Hey, I'm at my desk listening and may have zoned out, but wanted to check since the podcast on podbean is 3 hours long. I think there is a loop in here because I swear I've heard you guys talk twice about videogames and reprolabels.
Megatron was voiced by Seizo Kato in the Japanese dub of the original cartoon, he died three years ago, the anniversary of his death was three days after this podcast was recorded. From what I remember the Japanese dub did use the same sound effects, the only thing different was the occasional use of original pieces of music.
Don't you hate when all the elements of a hypothetical definitive version is dispersed between 2 or three toys? Case and point, Figuarts Bowser is beautiful, pose-able, and modestly featured, but he's so small! Jazware's Bowser is the scale I wanted, but he is limited and his paint makes me sad. True story: I actually got him in outrage when the SHF size was revealed, within 2 weeks I couldn't lie to myself anymore and RE-wanted the Figuarts.
Vangelus's assessment of some Fantoys collectors was spot on. They could see a teaser image of an upcoming release and they would say "Well I guess I can cancel my preorder on (insert name here) and wait for this guy"
Thanks for making me crave Pad Thai. It's not easy to get a good order in my area. The one remaining consistent spot is dine in focused and has an Indonesian garden so its first dates and family photos everywhere. The more casual spot I preferred has gone weird, they are trying to emulate the first place by adopting the inconvenient practices like closing between two and five. It's still easier to get carry out there but they've changed the dish and it tastes like peanut butter spaghetti now.
I'm surprised to hear that you have to unscrew fanstoys galvatrons head to change the face. I thought that they did away with that after scoria. Swoop has an MP-3 style face change gimmick and on snarl, sludge, and grimlock you just pull the front of the head off to change the face or eye color. Also MP Primal can hold the bonus die-cast mace.
If I'm not mistaken, the arm cannon on the MPM Bumblebee transforms from his arm. And there was a listing that said Movie Masterpiece "Saturn" and "Jupiter" which people figured were Optimus & Barricade, since those code names are in TLK. And these are supposed to be Movie 1 designs, but BB is the wrong Camaro model? New TRU Listing For Transformers: The Last Knight Toyline And Prices - Transformers News - TFW2005
!!! Man that is a bummer, I'll double check but I'm pretty sure the screw goes through the back half of the helmet and into the front half
With Blackhawk's question, I thought you were asking Riddler's again for team two. Mind you, as a group I think our thoughts trend in the same direction, especially when we get exposed to the same news, opinions and ideas. Been thinking about the nature of my collecting and trying to figure it out. So, what about shrine building and army building? Wanted to ask your thoughts on this, but haven't worked out how to pose it as a listener question... Do I want 3A's action master?
Just played this episode again, didn't catch what I commented about earlier. Must've been something from an earlier episode. My example for a whiplash or more like a slingshot pair of figures would start with MP-5. He only looked like a random nearby toy when I displayed him with MP seekers. At the time I had a lot of official and igear seekers and there where no other MP Decepticons so MP-5 only had one job. I passed on Appolyon because he scared me so my big geek out moment of seeing MP seekers with a vaugely similar Megatron landed on The CW leader. At least it's made me more patient about all the MP options that popped up.
I wished funpub would of made a cryotek out of energon shockwave. I have coveted that repaint since i was a teenager
Well the questions on this week's episode was similar to mine, but mine was more along the lines of what characters do you feel you already have definitive versions of and what characters are you still waiting for your definitive version of. Also a little bit about having to much of one character, I mean how many red futuristic space cars with flame paint jobs or red truck or grey jets can one guy buy until you just kind of go I'm good. Also animated Hot Rod is totally my definitive version of Hot Rod.
Hey Vangelus, I have good news for you, Megatron did indeed use his back cannon to fire from the hip just once in the cartoon. Here in Heavy Metal War.
Glad to hear Ex-Aid getting some love on the show. That's a series where I honestly think Toei is actively trying to create the worst costumes ever devised for... well, anything really, but I don't care because the show is so damn good.
Okay, now I REALLY want to watch Ex-Aid. Too bad Overtime, my usual subs of choice, gave it a pass. T_T Where are people watching this thing now?
A new group called Excite Subs has stepped up to fill Over-Time's shoes. They've been doing good work.
