If you want him to scale with TM2 Dinobot he only needs to be a head taller than that deluxe figure but if you'd like him to scale with more deluxe figures like Transmetal Cheetor, Tarantulas, Rattrap etc then he'd need to be slightly taller than Transmetal Megatron is in the picture above compared to those three characters.

 

The mainframe group shot of the Maximals shows Tigatron on the same level footing as Rhinox and he's slightly shorter. Episodes like Victory show Tigatron being taller than Primal too. I will post screen shots because I realise there aren't any up here for Tigatron.

TM2 Megatron is a good deal taller than Rampage the best scenes I've found are aboard the Nemesis and when they find the submersible. You actually see Dragon Megs side by side with Dinobot II (who's not much shorter than Rampage, about a head) and he's much taller. This new group shot makes me think he's not as big as I previously thought because it seemed like he was around equal size with Optimal in the last episode.

Again I have screen caps of Dinobot II next to Rampage and Dinobot II next to TM2 Megs to back this up I'll put them up later.

Man, that Cheetor looks goooood. I was planning to have Rampage in leader class, or voyager class, but it might cost to much to 3d-print.

 

It's important to remember, and I've posted the actual transcript of this before, but not every shot in the show is indicative of scale. The animators frequently rescaled characters based on what looked most natural for screen composition. It's entirely possible Tigatron is both shorter and taller than Primal, based on whatever scene needed which.

 

I think we can say that Tigatron is generally depicted as taller than Primal.

This whole project is to find a scale that fits as best as possible. Making Tigatron taller than Primal works to that outcome.

 

There's only one instance where I've seen Tigatron shorter than Primal and it's that big group shot where Air Razor is posed at Primals ankle, Tigatron seems to be exactly Cheetors set height in thus scene. I think that's an example of what you are saying Split Lip but in every other scene and in the Mainframe poster Tigatron is slightly shorter than Rhinox but still taller than Primal. There's also a scene from Better Mousetrap where we see Primal and Tigatrons beast modes together and I remember being shocked at how big his tiger mode is compared to the gorilla.
I've watched the whole series now, some episodes more than once, with this scale project being on my mind the whole time waiting to pause the video as soon as a useful scene pops up. Undoubtedly I've missed things but the most inconsistent characters for scale are TM Primal, TM Rattrap, Optimal and maybe Inferno.

 

Tigatron's scale always bothered me. It was just like G1 comics, where Habro did whatever they wanted. In one scene Fort Max is slightly taller than prime, in the next he is taller than devastator. Personally, I think Tigatron should be slightly shorter than Primal, but that's just my worthless opinion.

 

If this was your traditional good vs evil show, then Primal, as the leader, would/should be bigger. But Primal being someone that punches above his weight/height adds something to the character.

Was trying to find clear pics of how tall tigatron is in beast and bot mode and I could only find the ones on unicron.com. I think its safe to say he's taller than primal not by much but just about. Fingers crossed he gets his own masterpiece instead of a repaint theres substantial differences between cheetor and tigatron I hope takara take that into account. n

 

A hyptothetical MP Tigatron will be a new mould. Even if he has some upscaled parts from Cheetor, his tooling will be new. He wouldn't be a BW MP if he wasn't as show accurate as physically possible.

Sorry I have no way of taking pictures but I can tell you Steel Planet Dinobot is just under 18cm and MP Primal is just under 19cm in robot mode. I find Steel Planet scales roughly best with the season 2 crowd. Here's an old pic.

The only way to get one I think is through their Facebook page unless someone is selling theirs on the secondary market. They also come unpainted so you can either paint it yourself or commission one of the talented people around here to do it for you. TM2 Dinobot who is a board member here did a sterling job on mine so I would totally recommend him.

It seems the larger one on the left in the picture below and pictured with MP Primal (in beast mode) is no longer available but they are still making the smaller one on the right, who judging from my picture above that features the larger SP Dinobot with the Transmetals and just comparing the larger one with the smaller one in the pic below, looks like he'd scale nicely with the RobotMasters Primal and some of the original Deluxe and Basic Figures. The smaller one would probably look about right with TM Megs too.

 

That beast mode picture is amazing he looks perfect besides primal, I would so love one if these. Id totally try and paint it myself
