Nice! Now I'm working on finding a decently priced MP-10R..

 

I've wanted to buy a bape for a long time so I finally bought the black ver since I really like it better than the others, and I know it's a real authentic one since the KO isn't out yet. however I've been looking for a while now at the red and green ones but can't tell an authentic MISB one from a KO unless it says it is. And some Ko's say takara Tomy on the box and some dont. This is frustrating to me it's not like there is a guide like highendtfs, so I don't want to pay $$ for a junk KO. So does anyone know how to tell the difference between these when it's a sealed box?

 

Mine arrived today, only has a single tape, not doubled like the others.

 

I believe one way to tell is the embossed date/time stamp on the real version. I thought I recall the KOs not having that (or that it was printed, not embossed).

Although I could be wrong and others with more experience may have better info.

 

Where did you get yours from? Mine also was double tape, it's the 2nd masterpiece out of pretty much everyone release I own that came that way, unfortunately it sucks cause I wanted to send it to afa to get graded and well I didn't want a opened qualified scale graded bape, my understanding is afa will open it and inspect everything then grade it as a qualified scale instead of a sealed grade. As far as I know they won't grade it if it's double taped otherwise under normal grade scale. I've sent a some items to them and they will call you if something is a miss.
As far as the other bapes I won't buy them MISB unless either I can prove it's real and authentic or the seller has some kind of verifying proof, the worst would buying one from someone that either doesn't know theirs is a KO or they are trying to pass their KO off as a authentic

 

I purchased it on eBay from a Japanese seller. Came from Japan rather quickly.

 

Got mine yesterday. Like the other BAPE Convoys, it's nicer in person.

The legit Green BAPE version has a stamp code impressed into the box on the bottom of the box. The KO will not have this. I forget what the code is but I can look at it when I get home and let you know what to look for. Before buying any green version ask to see a pic of that code on the bottom of the box. I believe the red version had the same deal with the code. I can look that up too and if someone who bought the KO could look at the bottom of their box we can have an answer to that as well.

Does anyone have an idea of how many Green, Red, & Black versions of these were made? Someone asked this question before but I don't remember seeing any responses.

 

I feel your double tape pain. Mine was double taped as well but the two pieces of tape looked like they are exactly the same, (I'm not even sure the bottom tape was even broken - I couldn't see a break). The tear marks are identical to my eye too. I took a chance and sent it to AFA over week ago so I should be getting it back hopefully by next friday. I'd be happy to let you know what they do because I was told by another member that if the grader sees the tape is factory, they might give it a red label grade. It made sense to me because we all know that MP-11SW Skyward came from the factory double taped. I would hope that AFA would grade it under the normal scale.

On a side note, a lot of the Legends boxes coming from Takara are also double taped, so this seems like something that is becoming more common place. Unfortunately.

 

For those of you that are grading, are the boxes you have in really good condition? I originally wanted to do the same but figured it'd be too much trouble to track down so I'm gonna open him up!

Got the one I ordered from an ebay seller from Japan the other day. Can you believe it didn't come in a corrugated box? They just used a heap of bubblewrap. Thankfully there were no dents and it was single taped. However, the back of the packaging is slightly pressed in as if another heavy package was on top of it during shipping and the bubblewrap wasn't strong enough so support the weight. Messaged the seller letting them know for the cost of the item they should put in the box. Considering whether to give them neutral feedback since they haven't responded. Oh well, I know NY will package the one I ordered from them better.

That's been my issue too with buying 10A and 10R (besides the price lol! ). Thanks for everyone's insights, looks like somehow inspecting the bottom of the package for the code is the best bet.

Also mine was single taped too, was hoping it would come with that cool Bape bag that some got oh well.

 

So I actually did get a reply back from the seller apologising and they offered a full refund and would pay return shipping which was nice. It's probably not that big a deal and if I order elsewhere there is no guarantee it will arrive in better shape. So I'll just leave it.

Edit 3: after fiddling with him, the left chest/window doesn't tab into place and isn't flush. Anyone else having this issue?

I don't have this figure, but the chest not sitting flush has always been an issue with this mold. You can try to self correct it or just leave it as is.

Dude, $15 off a $300+ figure is peanuts, lol. Sure, every penny saved counts, but that's like going to buy a new TV and the sales guy says "I can take $15 off the price". These ebay flash deals are more meaningful for purchases around the $75 mark.

 

C'mon man! $15 is pizza money, I'll take it. After Purchasing my home, the realtor and I went out for drinks. I know her commission was crazy high and drinks were a drop in the bucket but I'll take it! Free is free!
