Yes. Editing what was first released and putting emphasis on different themes from it is good. It's just a tease until Superbowl.

    Exactly!

Some would argue that they haven't really given us anything in 10yrs so why start now.....

    Just be happy.

Why are they releasing tv spots 6 months before it's out? Usually it's just a month or 2.

Because they are doing something different with promotion this time. I rather like it and with so many other movies coming out next year, building the hype now is a good thing. Hey have to do something to get people excited for this movie. So many other movies have potential to take people out of the seats for this movie. Got to get people interested a lot sooner this time around.

The real reason is that Bay put a lot of US moviegoers off during a AOE interview stating "Let the hater's hate, I don't care anymore, they're going to go see it anyway". And as a result many of us in the US didn't go see it when compared to US Box office numbers with DOTM.

That and the fact that Paramount had an abysmal year in 2016 (Specifically in the Summer) and they need their biggest breadwinner to weather the drought as much as it can. I would explain more but some Fans can't handle the truth....

One thing for certain is that I bet'em that Bay won't be talking that "Let the Hater's hate." crap again while interviewing for this film.

I seriously doubt a group of people, who wouldn't see his films anyway, getting offended and butthurt is what hurt the US box office lol. No. A big reason was that the film pandered heavily to China rather than here and the marketing was sloppy at best. Add in the fact that everyone and their brother thought DOTM should've been the last TF Bay film and then AOE comes out featuring autobots riding dinosaurs and shit people got confused. Then word of mouth was for the most part more negative than ROTF(still the worst outta the bunch. Still enjoy it tho).

That's at least a few reasons relating to the movies. The rest is on the studios.

Just want to point out that Illumination Entertainment markets their movies HARDCORE for practically an entire YEAR (maybe sometimes longer?) before release, and look at how much money they earn! Paramount's on the right track; all they need to do now is put their advertisements on other movies' posters!

Here's hoping we see Barricade and Hot Rod in Robot mode in the Superbowl TV Spot. Maybe Onslaught too would be nice a closer look I mean.

Promotion is freakin' awesome this time. Great turnaround from AOE's awful marketing.

It was pretty much non-existent. Like, everything seemed to be very hush-hush and secretive, and they didn't really go all out with the marketing of the movie like they did with the first 3 movies.
