Sorry to hear that. My condolences. Take solace in the fact that he got to meet his great grandson and lived a long, fruitful life.
I'd like to thank everyone for their wishes. It's greatly appreciated. I took half the day off today to start arrangements. Couldn't start earlier because the funeral home is closed weekends. Being fresh off my mom's funeral I was more prepared. Scheduling being the way it's is it doesn't look like it will happen until early next week tho.
So sorry to hear about your dad's passing bp, condolences to you and yours. My parents died with a very short time between their deaths... and their death's affected me very differently as one was expected, the other was not. It's strange and very hard to lose them both in such a short time. Also, he could have been hiding a medical condition from you, mine did... and the holidays can bring on depression to the surviving spouse, especially in that first year.. and the loss can be overwhelming to them.. they don't want to go on. Will send prayers for strength that will help you deal with all you will be going thru in the coming weeks..
It is never easy losing a parent, but losing both so close to one another is devastating. Both my parents died recently too, best advice I can give is stay busy, remember the fun times, and enjoy your family.
A very good friend of mine lost both of her parents within a 3 month period. It hit her hard. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Well, I'm gonna be leaving shortly to go lay him to rest. His funeral is in a little over 3 hours from now. Thank you every for indulging me in this thread and all your kind words.
I can't even begin to imagine what you feel. I'm so sorry for your loss, all my thoughts and strenght to you and yours.
