Which one, the standard size or big version with sound? I used hot water to listen the joint, then popped it on.
I saw quite a few Harley Quinns and a Batman Begins Batman today. I was gonna get Batman, but... I think I know why he was left behind. I also saw the new Predators and couldn't pass this guy up. This is my first experience with the new articulation style and I really like it. I think my only issue with the figure itself is that the mask and cannon are a bit too easy to knock off.
That Batman has seen some things, man. Things that cannot be unseen. Broke down and nabbed Aliens Vasquez and Frost. Hope the Ripley/Newt pack gets released soon. Is it true that Hicks/Hudson are gonna see a 2-pack release/reissue too?
Yes, Hicks and Hudson are getting a reissue next February (give or take a month or so, I'm going off memory right now) and the two pack will include all the parts from both the single releases and versus pack releases. So they should be a nice set.
Except for the tail, I'm liking this more than the Monsterarts version. Godzilla wasn't that mobile in the movie so it doesn't need that much articulation in his body. The head and mouth are my biggest concerns and if they will include the splitting jaw thing.
He kind of looks like a scrotum (try unseeing that now!). It needs the burning hot spots imo. The paint looks too soft.
I hate the design, but I think it actually looks better without the paint. The scrotal details are... Dammit Drangelic.
I had no idea that NECA made a LOTR Balrog figure back in 2004: Lord of the Rings Balrog action figure - Another Toy Review by Michael Crawford, Captain Toy Pretty impressive. I checked eBay for it and it's like $300 now so, yeah, pics will have to do for me. But damn it's cool.
I had one. The wingspan was HUGE! It had a bit of a balance issue, though. Yeah, the sculpt and detailing were phenomenal, but he tipped over pretty easily if not positioned just right. Plus, the plastic on the wings had a bit of fragility to it.
I'd love to get my hands on one. I don't know how I missed it way back then. This is definitely something I'd like to see them revisit.
It wasn't solicited very widely, just through comic and specialty stores. My local comic shop had one that someone ordered, paid on, but never came back for. The owner told me it had been several months since the person that ordered was in, and if I wanted it, I could have it for a discount. It came in a huge brown shipping box with barely any information on the outside. Heck, it barely registered it was NECA until later on.
Unreleased NECA Prometheus Figures Coming April 2017 - The Toyark - News Seriously, what system does NECA work on?!! "Not enough interest", "not popular enough", "we lost the license", etc... and then out of nowhere you bring up your previously cancelled releases that you insisted were cancelled for good when no one expect them...?
I think Prometheus is getting more traction lately with Alien Covenant coming out in 2017 and the Prometheus comic. Fox is probably just trying to re-energize the franchise in preparation for that new movie.
Yeah, I don't know. It was just a guess on my part. Honestly the Engineers are the only figures I'm interested in from Prometheus and I already have them. Figures of the humans are kind of boring imo. But I guess someone out there wanted them.
Because with Prometheus, all the work has already been done -- the molds were made, the accessories were made, 99% of the work was complete. They are using the hype from Alien to make some of their money back, which they will. Planet of the Apes bombed so hard and they would lose money if they made all new figures. TRU was selling the figures for like $4 or something crazy at one point. I doubt TRU would even want to stock the figures anymore after how poorly it sold. NECA stuck with that license way longer than anyone should have, to be fair.
