Let what soak in? The Soundwave episode was a neat callback to Prime. Don't get where you're pulling all this vitriol from.
I, for one, love RID. (Obviously.) I think the Decepticons in it are unique and kinda interesting. And just because you dislike it, doesn't magically make it not a proper TF series.

I always find it funny when people try to defend G1 based on little more than projection and romanticization. G1 Megatron was, like, 60's Batman-tier at times.

I've never even watched RiD but I think it has some of the most interesting 'Con designs in a long time and I do like that they've got actual personalities beyond "mwahaha we're bad guys"

That's the thing. RID breaks from the basic OP/Megs battle and puts a BB into a leader position. The Autobots are made up of unlikely heroes hunting down fun original Decepticons. We could have another series that has Op vs Megs with Starscream, Soundwave, BB, Jazz, Ironhide, but why not try something different? I commend the series for not relying on all the big name characters which is also why I really like Rescue Bots.

It ain't just me hating it, I can see other fans being disgusted at the idea of kids growing up imagining decepticons like forest animals, its bad enough they think of steeljaw as a decepticon rather than an autobot (blasters cassette) and grimlock beimg a green brain dead t-rex who thinks he's in a teen titans show.

All this says to me is "Oh no! Not characters that are interesting or different from their original versions!"

Rid'01 sorta has an excuse, it was almost exclusively created for the japanese market and then haphazardly brought over stateside as filler when Hasbro needed time to develop Armada. and In Japan Villain Toys Don't Sell. IF they even get made. from my Understanding of the Japanese Toy market, Transformers actually makes more Villain toys than most other boys toy series.

you almost had a point with rid'15 and the bay movies

but then you went after idw, which, while at times inconsistent with its quality (Costa and Mcarthy's writing Ramondelli's art), is probably the best Transformers fiction outside of Beast Wars and Animated.

outta curiosity, what do you consider to be a "good transformers series"?

Well, don't you sound like a fun person.
Anyways. Do we know how long this program could run? I've got some toyline ideas and some rudimentary skills in 3D modelling, it'd be great if I could submit my idea to Hasbro once I've improved my skills and such.

Considering what he's said so far, I'd guess "it has to be devoted to the Almighty Geewun, because changing characters is bad or something"

Every series has it's fans as well as those who dislike it. RiD is no different in that regard than G1, Prime, Animated, Beast Wars, AEC and so on. My favorite point of yours is the "growing up imagining decepticons like forest animals"... you mean like the Predacons from G1 and many Beast Wars characters. Grimlock being a green brain dead t-rex versus a grey brain dead t-rex?

Each show has tried to do it's own thing to varying degrees of success. G1 has come and gone, we'll never have those exact representations again, which is a good thing. If we just got G1 again, then that means Hasbro and the show creators are completely out of fresh ideas.

While I respect that you don't care for the changes RiD has made, but it certainly isn't the first time character names have been used for the other side or characters personalities have changed.

G1 fans are given so much from Hasbro/Takara, Masterpiece, Generations, Devastation game, random statues and merchandise, yet still find time to complain about the few things that are trying to push the Transformers brand forward.

Anyone who is genuinely "disgusted" by the idea of kids growing up with a different version of Transformers than what they grew up with is a fucking potato.

    No, I
Transformers prime, G1 (obviously), Transformers animated and Beast wars. I'm only after IDW because when they first started their "continuity" back in 2005, the decepticons being a threat felt interesting and they were actually getting somewhere where they were getting more dark-toned and serious, then it devolved into a series where the entire faction is not a threat anymore and all of them is either dead, a pansy turncoat who wants to be an autobot or make atonement for their sins. Now we're stuck with a bunch of third-party villains that aren't decepticons.

Ugh, it's fans like you who disgust me. You always have time to find something to complain about when you are practically being spoiled than children. You're an adult and you're crying over how toys are so simplistic that you forget so many things that third party companies and etc. have done for you. Did you know Michael Bay ACTUALLY got Transformers on the big live action screen? If it wasn't for him, we'd be stuck with only cartoon shows, comics, or random sublines. Or even worse, we probably would have ended with a horseshit director that is worse than Bay.

Also, did you not know that Transformers is DIRECTED towards kids? You're complaining that shows like RiD and Rescue Bots are not shows because they don't match your taste? How mature of you. Last, have you heard of "different adaptations" of a character? Why would you bother repeating the same original idea? That gets boring over time and eventually you will lose interest. Kids will not even bother with Transformers if they keep repeating the same G1 idea throughout their shows.
