Same here. I can ignore the headmaster, but the other 2? Nope.
    I'm just not impressed here.

Think I'll start looking for the old CHUG Astrotrain.

Having had the CHUG Astrotrain mold, I can say that it is one of the few Classics figures I don't regret selling. If you think the titans return mold is too simplistic, then you will loathe the classics mold: it's blocky, hard to pose due to floppy joints, has a terrible paint job, very apparent kibble in all three modes, and a head that sits slightly off kilter making him look like he's in a constant state of neck pain. The Henkei version looks better but that chrome is doomed to flake off.

I like him better as a Steam Train.

I can live with the Shuttle mode...but the Train... It's part of his damn name for shits sake, it's the worst alt mode ever inflicted on a G1 character update. Why in the hell couldn't they have used the Deluxe design as a base for how to do a proper Astrotrain in a larger size. The speed train wasn't finished looking in the back the way the wings were obvious, but at least it looked like a damn train.

    He should be renamed AstroWTF.

I disagree, I owned the Deluxe, I liked it much more than I'll like this thing, especially in Train mode. It's one I do in fact regret selling. Mine was solid and no less simplistic than most of the other Classics Deluxes he came out with. The deco was typical for a first gen Classics figure, I mean Starscream was an eyesore to me, Megatron was a mess of green, orange, purple, white and Black. But Astrotrain wasn't bad by comparison.

It's even less understandable given that the design and transformation was cribbed from IDW.[IMG]

How did they go from this to that abortion. I just hope 3Ps can do a fix of this.

I love the deluxe mold so this guy had a lot to live up to. He is both simple yet very complex. I love the articulation and quick transformation between modes. However, as there are many inspirations for his deco being used here, I decided to pick one and add appropriate paint apps. I also look at him in a few "base modes".

It's a robot! It's a shuttle! It's a.... well, at least they tried. Proving the Triple Changer curse is still alive and well, Titans Return brings us the Sentinel Prime/Astrotrain mold! The last time we saw Astrotrain was in the Classics line and a lot of people were wanting an update. Some people like this mold, others don't. But should YOU like it? Find out with an in-depth review hosted by the Grim Reaper!

I have been waiting for a more substantial official Astrotrain for a long time and am ecstatic that this is finally with us! IMO the shuttle mode is definitely the better alt-mode, and overall the robot mode really shines. Leaps & bounds above my long serving classics Astrotrain, and fantastic we finally have a more substantial figure to match Voyager Blitzwing.

Here's my video review just posted this morning:
