I couldn't disagree more (a personal opinion only of course). This guy, for me, is stunning in hand. He looks and feels super premium and screams MP Ravage. My only dislike is that he no -longer scales with other cassettes or fit inside Soundwave. But, use a real life minicasette in Soundwaves chest, TT ravage half transformed on a flight stand and then this guy on teh ground in cat mode and you can do an awesome "transformation sequence" He's pricey sure but totally worth it to me. YMMV.
Yeah, it's a bit awkward having to mix and match but he scales great with MP robot modes. I actually think he, Steeljaw and Rhinohorn are probably the only ones that actually need to be upsized, maybe Fr/RUmble and Rewind if you want to get picky ( I kind of like Rumble being small as he's got that tough bluster small man syndrome going for him)

The Laserbeak looks terrible to me. That's a figure that I think Takara scale is perfect for. Maybe Rumble and Frenzy might be decent depending on how tall they end up. Ravage was the obvious easy win though.

I think Rumble and Frenzy will turn out great at the larger size.

Laserbeak seems like it'd be a mistake though. It'd be fucking huge hanging off of people's arms.

image.jpeg image.jpeg I just got this today. Got a great deal on eBay too. I must say... OMG! This thing is beautiful. Masterfully engineered, articulation... Scale. It puts every other cassette to shame. I would LOVE to see a Steeljaw to match.
But yeah, if you don't have it, bite that bullet. I'm in love!!

Looks good but I'll wait for the price to drop much lower.

was there talk about a none premium version for a cheaper price? $60 for a cassette bot is a bit steep for me.

It does seem a bit expensive, but then you realize that he's the same price as Ollie who isn't anywhere near the overall quality (or heft). Ravage really is a sweet figure and looks awesome with Soundwave and the other 'Cons.

    THIS.

And my breathe was taken away by how HEAVY he was. Truly did not expect that. He's quickly becoming one of my favorite MPs/3Ps.

Yeah, well, I certainly am not paying that much for Ollie either.
Yes, there was talk about a non premium version for a cheaper price. Maybe one day they make a no-metal, cheaper version like they were thinking about. That day comes I'll buy it. If that never happens, oh well.

I think the fact that he had premium in his name led people to believe there would be a non-premium version, but I don't recall any evidence of one.

Me too. While the official MP Laserbeak is fine as it is and doesn't need a redo, Rumble/Frenzy were my main disappointment along with MP Ravage in not capturing the look/feel of the character (understandable working to useable MP-13 casette scale.) Both were basically just slightly more articulated versions of the GI toys with little to no resemblance to their 'toon selves.

Now I have Jaguar and it resolves that issue 100%. Use Jaguar for an intimidating 'bot mode and the official MP in alt. for a scaled tape to go in MP-Soundwave. Simple.

The larger scale frees up Oc.Max to do a great Rumble full of "'tude", IMO (about MP bumblebee size or slightly smaller) that would look awesome next to FT-Willis with his scuba visor etc for the smackdown at the dam:

So does anybody know of any updates on this guy? Seems a little quiet or have Oc. Max ditched the idea now?

Also would be great if they knew that a Rumble was still on people's radar, and even more than (a much less necessary) Laserbeak in this instance.

Can we contact them anywhere to ask re: progress?

If you're not already familiar, MMC tends to be slow, and projects they've announced can sometimes can go for more than a year with any new status updates. They do usually announce when things are cancelled, so it's not likely that Rumble is. And of late with the OX line, they haven't really been putting out information on more than one new mold at at time, or at least, one new mold in Perfection (Terraegis/Artifex), and one new mold in Remix (Lazerbeak/Buzzsaw). Since TFCon Chicago is about a week away, I'm guessing there will be news about another Perfection Series figure, (Jazz?) and probably an updated proto of Lazerbeak. I kinda doubt they'll show anything more with Rumble, but that's just a guess.

In any case, best way to contact MMC or Ocular Max is via either one of their Facebook accounts. They might not necessarily respond, and if they do, they might not provide a date. And even if they do mention a general target date, keep in mind that 90% of projected dates MMC gives turn out to be wrong. :)

Rumble, Frenzy, Eject, Rewind, Ramhorn and Steeljaw all need to be done.
I'd love to see the scorpion for Twincast too.

Although not necessary, I would still get 1:1 versions of Lazerbeak, Buzzsaw and Ratbat.
    1:1 Cassetticons for the win!

I thought MMC OCular Max PS line was supposed to be doing MP scaled Protectobots/Defensor and Insecticons. Are they still doing these?

I'm interested in all of those as well, especially if Laserbeak gets retooled a bit from the early test shot that wasn't super well received.

Is anyone aware of a cage for Jaguar, similar to the KFC one for the microcasette-sized version of Ravage?

They mentioned the possibility but never confirmed it. I want to say it was maybe Peaugh or someone else when it was originally revealed at a con. They've moved on to other tapes though, which seems an answer in itself.
