If it's a licensing/high-level style show...odds are good the focus will be on the broader theme of the toyline. So they'll show off the "THE LAST NIGHT" graphics everywhere, and maybe we find out what kinds of gimmicks the different price points will have.

Yeah because the movies have been total failures at the box office.

    No they aren't. Not yet.

The movies are surefire success. New ideas are risky. With physical toys a weakening market, Hasbro is justifiably wary of risking a possible flop when there's still steady money coming from the status quo. If things were different I'd be right behind you, but Hasbro's not going to change things until they have to, and I don't blame them one bit. Disagree with? Yes, but not blame.

Despite all that, Transformers is not a fragile little inde property, it's a juggernaut decades old. It won't be killed merely by stagnation. It wasn't before. It has the name power and public knowledge across many generations most properties only dream of. The fact that it hasn't needed to reinvent in so long is proof of it's current strength.

Not to mention how well the toy lines for them have done is what's given us such things as Combiner wars and Titans Return among others. Heck TFP itself, and its follow up RID is directly because of Bay movies. Ditto to Animated really.

And even among those. They've experimented. Automorph technology. The intricacies of Animated. Overly complex, then simplified. Human Alliance. Rescue Bots. The different visual aesthetics of Animated, Prime, Rescue Bots, and RID. The C-Clips system of Generations and HFTD. Even Kre-O and Construct bots. Not to mention how much this experimentation has translated to generations still with Powercore Combiners, and Combiner wars, even Titans Return.

It's not directly Beast Wars, but the lines have evolved changed, tried new things, and experimented in soft-refreshes across the board to fully showcase different merchandising potentials. Even the 1-2-3 step changers are directly because of the movies.

\"The Transformers Franchise is making a rather large presence in UK this year and the next with majority of the 5th movie taking place in the country.\"
Let\'s hope this means that us Brits get the new toys at the same rate as our American cousins. I\'m so sick of being 3-8 months behind and i don\'t want to pay the Scalpers\' marked-up prices.
My local Argos still has Combiner Wars stuff (Swindle & Hot Spot) despite advertising Titans Return in their catalogue.

    In terms of Titans Return

Of Wave 3 most likely/Definitely see sence that's all of the unseen display stuff. (I'm aware of packaging) that doesnt count.

    Trigger-happy
    Twinferno
    Breakaway

I'd say we might see the

    Titan Masters ( rumors )

    Grotesque
    Hosehead
    Arcee
    Ranger

    legends ( rumors)

    Cliffjumper
    Seaspray
    Huffer

    Deluxe ( confirmed )

    Krok
    Quake
    Kup
    Topspin

    Voyager ( confirmed/ rumor )

    Broadside

    Leader ( rumors )

    Overlord

    I'd say 2 Titan master 1 Legends 2 Deluxe
Mabey the 1 voyager and leader.

In regards to Broadside I know it's confirmed but the rumor applied to Wave it's rumored it's wave 4.

Id be a happy camper if Wave 4 gets shown in its entirety.

Uh... licensing shows don't show products. Or at least, not like at a Toy Fair.

It's a way for companies to promote upcoming high level brands. So this is where key art, copyrights and big picture stuff is revealed.

You're setting unreasonable expectations if you think there's going to be a big toy rollout. That's for NYCC or whatever next big public convention is.

    This.

They'll focus on brand opportunities for expansion because of popularity as well as their other brands that need the same. Hence "Licensing show." It's about getting the license out there for fellow business opportunities.

Toy Fairs are about retailers and products(and also now generating public interest), then NYCC/SDCC are about the fans, popular merchandise fans like, and the media mediums like tv series, movies, and comics.

It might be just a licensing expo.
But, Hasbro will try to do something diferent this time, the Transformers live-action franchise has earned a lot of money in box-office, but next year there is a lot of competition in general, even that this movie will not have troubles on the release, if they want to have an important spot o attention from the public, they have to create and keep the hype in different ways.
So, maybe this event will not have any pictures of anything, but still there could be plenty of info about the movie itself and toys. In the case of the movie, we could get more info about the characters, about the robots, a premise or even something gets leak about it. And for the toys, we could get info about what type of toys we will get, what scales they will work this time or even what characters we will see first in toys next year.
I still think that we will see some stuff this week on NYCC, it could be just a figure in voyager-leader scale as years ago, or a very small assortement in general (legion, voyager, deluxe and leader, one of each scale). And later, during this event get more info.
To see more photos in general on toyfair next year.

That's good to know too. I wouldn't know anyway, I don't collect toys and I'm only familiar with the movie toy line.

Showing some product is normal to generate brand interest across their properties and licenses. Much of that is the same jargon they use for every licensing show. It's to hype up the brands to various licensors to generate interest. Which does also entail showing off the value of product. But the most common product to do so is the media tied. Not the heavily fan oriented and obscure. So Overlord is a probable no(though they could). He only had media exposure in Japan, though europe may have gotten some releases too, unsure. The heavier push will be on things that have media exposure directly. Toons and movies. Even comic material may not have much of an emphasis. The heavier push will also be new material they need out in the public that's upcoming. New properties like Hanazuki, and others.

The 8 categories is to show licensors how popular their material is to hype themselves up. Shows like this are about selling yourself, and your company. So all we're saying is keep your expectations low and hope for the best, but don't be disappointed when it's not as heavy as a toy fair or convention. This is more of a business show than a fan oriented one.

Indeed. Licensing shows are not equal to Toy Fairs. This is mainly to show potential business partners what sort of brands and products Hasbro will deliver next year. They’ll show at most 5 or 6 Transformers toys. Nothing more than that, I guess.

If you want an example, check out their last Licensing Expo: Hasbro Transformers At Licensing Expo 2016 - Transformers News - TFW2005

Speaking of which, I found out exactly why Hasbro is having the biggest stall this year. As I was informed, Hasbro will be bringing their own travelling licensing show Factory Of Wonder right inside BLE2016.

Correct me if I‘m wrong but didnt they reveal the very first image of the leader class Optimus for AOE around this time in 2013? Like fall or winter of 2013 before the first trailer came out.

Yes, actually. I happen to know this because I was looking back on old AoE news for reference the other day, lol. Can't remember if it was for NYCC or the Brand Licensing Expo, though.
