I don't think the profanity is really necessary.
Just saying something like, "any chance of round bumper lamps ?? Or what about removable lamps with the option of extra round lamps that fans can swap over if they wanted too !!"

Courtesy goes a long way instead of being blatantly profane.

That and... people have been floating the option of covers that get us at least half way there... so it's not like anyone has been demanding about it or inflexible.

I'm not sure if the image posted above is an attempt at exaggerated satire of those of us who want round lights, or a legitimate effort to tell MakeToys what we'd appreciate. Either way, I would at least word it differently personally.

Yes, is a LOL picture... it's my fault.
However I'm a big fan of Maketoys, I love Despotron, the best Transformers of the year IMHO, and I love this jazz, sincerely I hope for round optional lights.

So, given that Maketoys has an email address on their site, I figured, rather than speculate about what might or might not happen, I'd just send them a quick note politely asking them if this was final and if it would use the "Moby Dick" style of Porsche, or if it was still in progress and might end up using the G1 Jazz Porsche. I told them it looked amazing already (because it does) and included a couple of pictures of the different Porsches to see which one they were using, in case there was a language barrier with my questions. I didn't expect a reply at all, but only two hours later I received an email thanking me for my interest and this:

So, good news for everyone who is hoping it will be changed to use the toy-accurate headlights and rear-end, as it sounds like they're on it. I can't wait to see more of this figure either way.

I think it was just a little 'mistake', they didn't find that there was an even more accurate real Porsche.

It can happen. Even TT choose the right version of Stratos for WJ, but put the wrong specs on the back of the box... And they're supposed to be more fond of cars than a Chinese 3p without official licensing.

So kudos if MT can address this little mistake...

See, I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm never upset at anyone or mad on these forums. On the contrary, this is one of only three "happy places" I have lol. I just honestly didn't know what the context or connotation was. Which was what I tried to take pains to say without conveying tension or anything.

I think this is just a problem intrinsic to the internet. There's just text, with no emotional context or inflection, so people infer things that aren't there and assume the worst because deep down, we're all insecure weirdos, we just don't want to admit that even to ourselves. :p

That, and for my part, I'm sick now going on three weeks. So that doesn't help. Anyway, I hope I didn't give anyone the impression I was ever upset. I am always careful to choose my words for civility, but this being the internet, that doesn't always come across no matter how hard we try.

    Carry on.

    Great news!

I agree, I like the atmosphere here and I've met lots of nice people. Of course there are D-bags but you get them everywhere on the 'net and in real life too. You just have to deal with it.

Nice that MT is listening and also good to see that, what looks to be the most cartoon accurate Jazz up untill now, is taking shape.

That's spectacular news. Jazz is my absolute favorite of the classic/Ark G1 Autobots. I've been following all the 3rd Party Jazz figures, but so far none have really nailed him. With this news it sounds like MT might be the one to do it. They certainly have the best looking bot mode, and now that they're fixing up the alt mode it sounds like it will just come down to giving him a great paint job.

I especially love the seemingly collapsing hood-chest transformation. It seems like such an obvious solution. In fact I've often wondered why Takara didn't do something similar for Sideswipe.

That's awesome that MT is listening. I really like what I see so far, and if they make a few changes, I am genuinely excited about this being a pretty solid Jazz.

This is excellent news. I’m a bit fussy regarding my Jazz figure I only owned 4 of the Autobot cars back in the 80’s, and he’s the only one that HasTak hasn’t already nailed for me (The others being Ratchet, Wheeljack and Red Alert).

If they sort out the headlights and allow us to place the doors as wings, then the only other thing I’d like to see is the official Martini stripes, and I’m dropping (the possibly non-existent) Hova for this. Hova looks as good as this, with each figure having strengths and weaknesses over the other, but we at least know this will see the light of day.

I couldn't agree more. Nothing better than professional outrage and entitled children to get the day rolling.
I'm thrilled MT is doing a Jazz, FT or them is who I was hoping for. At first I was lukewarm about the model, it's amazing what the right color scheme will do. That last bash is spot on.

All jokes aside and however you want to look at it, my post wasn't meant as an insult, I was implying that being courteous is generally a good way to ask for something, without needing to swear. Not directed at you as a person.
