Not sure if this has been a thread before, but I just wanted to see some people's thoughts on where they prefer the CHUG G1 Minibots (and by extension Throttlebots, Battlechargers, and whatever other subgroup that was at a comparable scale), and why. I basically want Deluxe or above for those characters. Not because I display my collection in alt-modes much, and certainly not because I'm trying to make sense out of Transformers scale (I'm troubled, not crazy). But I can still see alt-modes bits on the Legends guys, and can't help but feel some dissonance if I have, say, Legends Huffer standing by Voyager Prime. I have a few of the earlier CHUG Minibot molds. Deluxe Warpath is certainly my display Warpath (CANNON CHEST), with the nu-Legends guy being a possible Slammer custom if I ever get off my ass to do one. Universe Powerglide is really too big, because him being that large scaled against the Deluxe Seekers throws me off, no matter how much I like the figure. But his Legends version has the same effect on me! We're going to get the second nu-Legends scale Bumblebee soon, but the Classics one very much works for me. Runaperson wound up as Blackjack and makes a nice Menasor chest-piece when he doesn't immediately topple off, but I have the Club Battlechargers, and they are basically perfect. My feelings are obviously varied. I'm mostly fine with what we get as far as completing the cartoon cast. After all, some of these characters being in the Legends scale frees up spots for the more obscure characters getting a spot (we're seeing a Headmasters line. Wow.) But in the best of all possible worlds, I'd dig deluxe Brawn, Chase, Windcharger, Swerve, and whoever else against the current or upcoming Legends versions. And a Voyager Cosmos.
Carbots should be deluxe the seasprays of the world should be legends. The big guys voyager and the skyfires leader
I prefer them to be Legends, of course right now I do have a scout Windcharger, deluxe Bumblebee & Warpath on my shelf but for the most part they are all legends. Just need a Legends Brawn, Outback, Bumper, Hubcap, Seaspray, & Beachcomber to be done.
I like em little! I love seeing all the different scales and sizes in my collection, which is a direct reference to the G1 toys.
I'd prefer the old Scout-class size, personally, but I voted a nice firm "depends on the character." All of the '84 Minibots should be Scouts, but as for the '85 crew, Warpath and Powerglide can be Deluxes (but on the short side). Throttlebots should be Scouts, except for Wide Load who can be Deluxe, and Battlechargers should be Deluxes.
Depends. I like Bumblebee small (legends) but having Cosmos, Powerglide or Warpath at deluxe size or larger works for me. Preferably I'd like to have the old Scout class for guys like Brawn and Windcharger.
I am okay with either Legends or Deluxe...just want them same in bot mode...so all either one or the other...
Scout Windcharger was pretty sick, but I never minded the original little legends class figures, even if they didn't have much articulation. Like my minibots all about the same size. Scouts would have been great for modern versions, but I can't complain about anything we have gotten.
IT does depend on the character. I'm fine with Legends versions of Bee (and please make Cliff and the other too!) because I collect at that size but I need Carbots to be Deluxe to fit in with everyone else so that means two versions - which again I'm fine with but not everyone would need/want both. I had Warpath as a Kid but having him as anything smaller than the current excellent deluxe doesn't make much sense considering his Alt.
In my world they ordered like this: Warpath - deluxe Cosmos, Powerglide, huffer, seaspray, beachcomber, gears, brawn, outback (and maybe Pipes as well) - I use the igear versions (or OS KOs) for most which is between legends and deluxe Windcharger - scout Bumblebee, cliffjumper, swerve, tailgate - legends Wheelie - old legends
I find i refer more to the G1 toys than the fiction when thinking about sized for their updates. So that's why i'd have liked the Headmasters to be Voyagers, why i prefer the Dinobots not to be Leaders and so, yes i would like all Minibots and Throttlebots to be Legends.
It depends on quality. Deluxe Warpath is amazing so I'm ok with him as a deluxe. Ultra Powerglide was ugly so I never bought him. I guess I just don't care so long as it's a good toy.
As long as they don't stray far from Sunbow scale (I'm looking at you, Universe Powerglide!), I'm satisfied.
I'd prefer them all to be current legends class figures. Only one who wouldn't be is Windcharger...the old scout is simply so much better than the weirdly stylized IDW Combiner Wars version.
I for the most part hate scouts and legends. I love Deluxe Classics Bee and want all my mini bots to be at least Deluxe with a few exceptions
I personally like having some variety in height and bulk, so anything from a scout size to a small deluxe is perfect for me. Sorry for the crappy image quality...
For my taste all minibots should be small deluxe size, also IMO it makes no sense at all having legend size vehicle among all the other deluxe ones, they kinda look like remote control toy cars compared to the deluxe ones.
Im oc about scale so cars are deluxes i have voyager powerglide , rotf seaspray (one of my faves) and i am exploring my options for a scale acurate warpath
^^^This^^^ The nice thing about the scouts (compared to Legends) is that the vehicle modes didn't feel absurdly diminutive sitting next to a Deluxe ~ it was a much more satisfying scale. In general though, i don't care about the scale/size so long as it's a good figure: but of all they've done, Deluxe Bumblebee & Warpath, Scout Windcharger and Legends Cosmos are far and away my favorites.
