Don't know how long Barnes & Noble has been carrying Marvel Legends, but I found a few today at a local store, including a Black Panther. They had some random figures from the Giant Man wave and the Absorbing Man wave, Surprisingly they were priced at $19.95.

The hips are little wonky and he lacks ankle swivels I believe, but other than that Now Iron man is pretty much on par with every other legend. Don't really see the problem with him and the mold fits the design decently enough.

The way my set up is he looks really good standing behind Vision from the same wave. But yeah I see your point, after messing with the figure for a while he is a really nice Iron Man and I think I like him more than Age of Ultron Iron Man.

Man I wish I could bite the bullet and pay 20 dollars for Civil War Iron Man. I love that suit when I saw the movie but I keep waiting for the day when I see a price drop. Thats how I usually buy my Legends, example being Marvel Now Iron Man and Sentry which I only paid 6 bucks for! Or when I bought half the Odin and Hulkbuster wave from Meijers for 10 bucks a piece!

I'm curious, do you usually pose your figures in neutral stances and call it a day? I don't mind the MKIV/Marvel NOW mold, but it does feel very dated in-hand, compared to more recent Iron Man figures. For example the Mk42/43 from Iron Man 3/AOU have far better hip articulation. I agree with what mx-01 archon said:

I was never a fan of the 45 degree hips that Hasbro largely used at that time(and which was later reused on the Marvel NOW Iron Man since it's a MKIV repaint). I'm happy that most Hasbro ML now have the straightforward, 90 degree hip pegs. Adding to that, I wasn't a fan of when Toy Biz switched to 45 degree hips either.

Finally got Deadpool. Great figure! Shame it's packed 1 per case. I hope all of you that want one are able to acquire one soon. I'm glad that Hasbro is offering casefuls of him in the future, hopefully smaller retailers like Gamestop get onboard with those cases, right now I only know of online stores that are getting it.

Some of the 3.75" Marvel Universe/Infinite Legends share the same digital sculpts as their larger 6" counterparts. The latter almost always look way better. Going by this, I hope we get a 6" AOA Magneto. Always loved that design. A new AOA Weapon X/Omega using the new Wolverine buck is a no-brainer too. Omega Red needs a redo also.

Damn, the early 90's had some great comic designs! I hope Hasbro completes the X-Men Blue/Gold team rosters within the next year and a half.

Still haven't seen much of the space knight venom wave. Odin wave is still clinging in the area. Onslaught wave is finally beginning to fade, and giant wave minus black panther and Nick Fury are beginning to be more common place. Absorbing man speed demon and wasp are collecting so much dust it's just sad. The rhino wave went through and was gone almost immediately prior to that. Never thought I would complain about so many new figures in a line, but stores, around here at least, have so much old stock in that they don't order anything new hardly. Not sure if abomination wave is out yet or not.

The X-Men wave is slowly truckling in, mainly Havok shelfwarms out of that wave. My wolverine and Deadpool are the only ones that I have found so far. This has to be one of the best selling waves that Hasbro has done. I still need a Havok and iceman but I have been waiting for a good sell price, I'm not in a rush.

So all the figures in the raft sdcc set will get mass release? Well, I wish I had known that prior to buying a dreadknight. Oh well I gave his sword to taskmaster who got a new custom cape as well, and the result is so much better than I had hoped for. Maybe there will be some difference in the mass release that will make me want to pick it up, or simply buy the baf part by itself. I knew about enchantress prior but I guess we'll see on that one. But that would also mean a McFarlane Spidey mass release. Not that I'm short on spiderman figures but I wouldn't mind picking it up.

Which makes me curious what wave they will release purple man in? Hell maybe we can get a jewel and Luke cage figure in the near future. I don't remember if the Daredevil figure came out in the ultimate Hobgoblin wave timed with the Netflix series or not, but having a badass Luke cage figure is a must for me.

Sorry for the long rambling post. Just another sleepless night and I'm bored to death.

Outside of the hips, the biggest thing you notice about the mold is the restricted range of motion on many of the joints. The torso balljoint winds up being more of a swivel than anything, and the ankles are practically immobile.

Sculpt work is still good (which has almost never been an issue with Hasbro's ML figures, outside of the weird pinched faces that happened in the early years. And also with the exception of whatever the hell happened with their first attempt at Emma Frost), so if all you really want is for the figure to stand around in your "Hall of Armor", then it still works perfectly fine. But it's definitely dated.

Original toy biz legends or even Toybiz Marvel superheroes are dated. A mold from ten years ago with the same exact aethistics, that serves all the important functions but only has minor articulation restrictions is far from dated.

I mean, if we're gonna say articulation restrictions make a figure dated CW Iron Man, Gotg Gamora, and CW Black Panther all fit this term. Oh, and baf Thanos that might as well have your classic t hips too.

But yeah Shin, most of the time I just fiddle with the figure for a few minutes the up on a shelf they go. I gotta wonder what some of you guys are actually do with your figures that so drastically warrants the dated term. (Sorry but it's a term far too abused by toy, esp TF, collectors).

I think most stores are still shuffling through their giant man stock.

And sorry guys if I sounded combatant, think the 3rd party forum is rubbing off on me lol.

I play with my figures. By play, I mean I pose them and sometimes make up little scenarios and take pics of them.

Actually, Dreadnight, Purpleman and McFarlane Spidey are the only figures that currently don't seem to be getting released elsewhere. That's not to say that they couldn't or won't, but right now there's no known waves with those three in it.

Well, in my case I don't just display my figures in team line ups standing in a neutral pose. I actually like to use stands and dynamic posing along with display pieces (like some of the Figuarts effects and old Toy Biz stands) and diorama pieces to create battle scenes on my detolf shelves. When you're trying to get a dynamic pose (think superhero landing) out of a figure and it's incapable of doing what you want it to you start to notice it not being on par with your other figures.

Maybe dated doesn't fit exactly, but it certainly isn't on par with what Hasbro puts out today. Is it serviceable if you just want it to stand around on your shelf and look good? Certainly. But it doesn't exactly have the kind of articulation I'm looking for personally.

it's ridiculous that they never clearance out the old waves. they are never gonna get rid of them. this i fear is what is holding up the abomination wave. they do it for black series.

Yeah, I use the stands too but normally I'm just trying to do a great team pose type of situation. And I get where everyone is coming with the articulation isn't up to current standards, but like I said, we still get those figures that have similar articulation today. Thanos is a great example since he has practically zero hip articulation and the newest iron man also...though he looks so cool and has the bulk we've all been wanting from an IM figure.

That cape will be invaluable if/when I ever get around to making a custom Dr. Strangefate.

The local Half-Price Books had the "SHIELD" TRU 3-pack for under $30 after my 10% off coupon, so I finally have a Coulson, who is great. Fury's okay, though he could definitely be better. And Maria's... unfortunately on the same body as Sharon, so she kinda sucks. Hell, I think I would be okay with them if they had flat shoes.

Also, I popped into the newest Kroger Marketplace that opened up around here, and I think I found where all of the Spider-Gwens and Venoms are.

In case it isn't immediately apparent, those are rows of figures. You're looking at 14 Gwens and over 20 Venoms. This store has more Gwens than most other stores around here have Legends in general :lol .

I was going to order one from there, but apparently they must not do the "free shipping to your local store" any more, so I'm not paying the extra $6 for shipping. He'll be easy enough to get eventually.
