Hope this helps. i had giant for ages, and just picked up herc really cheap (£100). giant is definitely the more solid of the two, but herc has the bulk needed for the character. he locks together pretty well and if you are willing to do a small amount of work (tightening joints with superglue to reduce wobble, grease up ratchets etc) hes a really good figure even after all these years. i got herc as giant is now tiny next to menasor.

Four actually. Two complete rifles on back, two barrels under Hook, Rage Kit shoulders, and a set of shoulders for knees.

Two Hercs with Rage Kits (one came with two sets) on eBay for $200/ea. plus two busted Scavengers for the guns (two on each forearm).

Plus Crazy Devy LED head and purple Mixmaster barrel (the colour matches better in-person).

Gonna pop on the purple PE CW hands once I find the set I have in storage...

 

Bought mine about 1.5 years ago, got some stickers (not repro), still not applied. Imho, one of the best combiners ever.

 

I have no memory of that, but I have seen people do paint washes with brown/rust colors to get a more real-world feel to the characters.

It is a a pretty easy technique to do. Acrylic paints, thinned with water or acrylic thinner are easy to work with.

Ironically, I don't really care much for how the combined mode looks with the paint but the individual figures look SOOOO much better after some paint TLC from him.

 

The best Hercules custom I've seen is GI Eddie's.

Ok does anyone remember what pages have the mixmaster combiner port ratchet fixes?

And can anyone tell me if the non 1st run version fixed it? I tired of my Herc's bum left leg!

OH jeez, can't remember the page but IIRC the fix is to disassemble the area around the port and put a rubber shim in there, in my case I cut one of those broad, flat elastics and folded it twice, reassembled then it worked perfectly.

 

Genesis as Fretburn mentions is good, but I'd say YOTS Omega w/Amageddon upgrade kit is nigh spot on aesthetically
