Just to clarify, when I said Sonicdrill was the weakest, I didn't mean that he's bad or I dislike him. I just think he has the most flaws. His robot mode is really cool, and I like the underslung weapons.

And I said it before in this thread, once you figure out his transformation, it's not hard. It's just the least fun.

It's nice to see people getting to enjoy this set for the first time. They're great figures.

lol nice! I haven't tried putting either of my Rippers on Quantron, the colors just seem really off but maybe it'd be cool with symmetry...

Still sad they never finished (or even released more of) their SG sets. I got rid of my Quantron, but was totally on board to finish the alternate version. Ah well.

Is there 5 or 6 figures in this set?

I preordered the Scattershot figure from TCP a couple months ago, back when several e-tailers were getting them as individual figures. No word yet on them coming in. Hopefully TCP didn't miss out on the figures.

Got in the last of the individually packaged Quantron bots last week, and over this weekend combined them all. Wow! What a great, solid combiner mode with lots of weapon options and very good stability.

I waited on this one due to the QC issues, but I'm happy to report that the individual robots all seem to be very solid with all of the fixes installed, even Sonic Drill tabs in nice and solid in vehicle and leg modes. I also got the extra Shadow Fisher parts, which I don't see as having a huge impact, but it adds a bit of flexibility in the articulation in combined mode.

Probably the worst part of these are the instructions, they're pretty unclear about several steps of the transformations, but the more you transform these, the more options you find for weapons placement, tabs for stability, etc.

I noticed that the little crossbeams on the tip of the large laser can peg into the hand for Giga Bow mode, so you can also use that to hold the weapon as sort of a shoulder-held bazooka as well. I hadn't seen that in any of the thread so far, but it's a good option for holding that heavy weapon in hand without having to detach Blindfire's hand.

Certainly one of the best and most cohesive combiners I have, right up there with Feral Rex in terms of complexity and detail.

I also liked the ability to be able to space out the purchases of each limb robot from TFsource or BigBadToyStore, so I could enjoy each of these before I picked up Metalstorm. A lot of detail and play value in each of these guys.

Any chance you could snap a few pics of this configuration? I'm really interested in seeing more options for this set. The more people that are getting these figures in hand, with new eyeballs figuring out new ideas, the better for everyone's enjoyment.

I found a few myself and started this thread to share new ideas...

Here are a couple of pics of Quantron holding his big cannon by the front handle like a bazooka or shoulder-mounted cannon:

Just as easy as you'd think - fit the slot on the little crossbar on the cannon front (where he holds it in Giga Bow mode) vertically into the tab in the hand, and rest the cannon on his arm like a rocket launcher.

The weight distribution in this mode is much more preferable than putting the back of the cannon into the arm front, and you don't have to detach the hand either.

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to incorporate all of the vehicle modes together into one ship?

I was kind of reminded of that old 'Battle of the Planets' - the USA version of Gatchaman - where the bigger ship, the Phoenix, launched a smaller jet, a race car, a tank and a motorcycle. That corresponds to the Technobot team.

I was thinking it would look best with Blindfire at the top of Metalstorm, Overheat on the bottom (as landing gear), and Celeritas and Sonic Drill under each of the side 'foot jets' since they're much smaller.

If it's not possible, then that might be an interesting project to create adaptors to make it possible.

I highly recommend this set when it's $300 or less. But I'm kind of biased as I think these figures are fantastic in all three modes. :)

I agree the set is incredible.. I dont know if I own any other transformers I have transformed through each mode more than the quantron set and they still hold up strong ... Definitely one of my favorite combiners or sets to this day

Current combiners I have are Green Giant, Feral Rex, Warbotron, Shura King, and Quantron. Out of them all Quantron is the most fun to pose for me. The most stable. He has the correct balance of stability to weight ratio.
