So I said I would never get a repaint of another mold, but I really want Ratchet. Is there anywhere that has him for less than $80 shipped? HLJ looks like my best bet, but I wanted to ask here first before pulling the trigger.

    Thanks!

There's a difference when it's not some totally random new guy or a mold reuse for a character who's never shared molds before. It's not a total repaint anyway, the seekers are total repaints, but even then, they are still different characters who have existed for 30+ years.

I still need him myself, but I have to wait until UW Computron comes out, and hopefully then I can get him, I collect the Filmation MOTU line and the coming Thundercats line. I need to try to get him before Inferno comes put to be caught up with what I want

Less than $80 shipped? I doubt it. HLJ would probably be your best bet for the lowest price from a legitimate seller. They are selling it for about $77 before shipping costs.

Welp. Pulled the trigger. Too many MPs this month haha. Really wanted back in after I sold my collection a few months ago. Missed it and I love that the line is headed for more toon accurate.

On my copy of Ratchet, I noticed micro cracking of the white shiny paint. Just shine some light on the paint and look at it at an angle.

My concern is whether the paint will chip off easily in the long term.

Anyone confirms the same paint problem?

Don't forget reprolabels has a sticker set for Ratchet. Not dry transfers or water decals, just peel & place so they are easy to apply. The set even includes the sought after red cross logos already pre-cut. No need for a hobby knife!

Still no cracking or chipping on my Ratchet's paint. Fingers crossed he's ok from here on.

The cracks are very fine and are easy to miss. The areas on my ratchet that shows the most 'cracks' are the roof (top and underside) and side windows that were painted white.

Beginning to think my Ratchet must be cursed. Not only has he only just received replacement face and leg (having arrived with broken leg panel and busted-up face and then waiting until the very last minute of the Paypal 45 day protection to actually get that dealt with), but I just received the KFC articulated hands for him and guess what - TWO RIGHT HANDS!! Physician heal thyself indeed, FFS :lol

It's not so much the money for me. I want an MP Ratchet, but the widespread issues with paint flaking and such makes me wonder if the KO won't be of better production quality. Because sometimes, they are. And I'm patient.

Also, sorry to hear that, OTL. Bummer.

Ouch, sounds like given enough time the van bros may give MP-09 a run for the title of worst MP QC.

Falling off? What happened to flying off? I've heard tale of his shoulders exploding and whole arms flying across the room without provocation.

I wanted to say leaving the figure with great velocities.. but the legs only fell off when you touched them so velocity only worked for the shoulders... lol

The arms too? I knew about the exploding ankles and knees but the arms?

I can't help but imagine some poor soul out there unboxing MP-9 for the first time only for a pin to fall out, smoke slightly, then the figure explode like a plastic hand grenade.

Yep, the spring in his shoulder was too strong for the plastic... Almost like one of those toys with spring loaded battle damage :D

Add to that that it could actually break the shoulder in package... Yeah MP-5 is a Tonka toy compared to Mp-9 lol

I would love to buy a MP-9 but I feel it would be safer just to toss some money in the trash :(  I would love Takara or a KO company to do a upgraded figure with more robust joints.

That happened to met on Friday. The shoulder ratchet is too strong and it caused the actual piece to break off and because it was spring loaded, it went flying across the room.

I am so hoping that with this many QC issues, they will come out with some replacement pieces. TF source has not returned my email, should I try to contact Takara directly?

I dunno about contacting Takara, I would try to go through your retailer first. I don't use tfslow anymore. Their customer service in my experience sucks. They are so slow to ship and respond. Ed at Toy Dojo is one of the best and is very quick to respond to emails. Give Tfslow a few days to respond. I hope you get a replacement part for your Ratchet.
