They have tons of Decepticons that haven't even been introduced. They wouldn't need to scour the other movies for Decepticons to bring back. They probably had an idea for a cool car chase or something and people love the Barricade police car so they brought him back as an updated model.

 

They brought Barricade back for 2 main reasons. 1. To have a fan favored Con to pull forward into Bees stand alone movie as Bees equal/advisory. 2. Because the Car wars/ Camaro vs Mustang drives people to buy more of these cars  

 

Barricade coming back is obviously to get him reintroduced for the Bumblebee movie.

The best and only choice for the villain of the Bumblebee movie is Barricade.

 

Those sound like perfectly valid reasons. I'd love to see what Ford would do with a street legal Transformers edition of the new Barricade car. I'd definitely be cashing in on that if I were them. People love a bad guy.

 

Prowl as a 2016 Nissan GT-R R35 with a Tokyo Police deco. Make it happen, Bay.   But it won't, I know. For some strange reason, the movieverse does not do any justice with Japanese cars. And Japan basically helping to bring the G1 franchise together in the first place too.

I'd like to see one too. I love my 2012 Mustang and actually prefer the previous 5th generation style body over the new (curvier) 6th generation style body, but can't deny the new Mustang is still a thing of beauty.

 

Barricade has always been my favorite movie Decepticon so I'm definitely happy he's back. Awesome car mode too, love the update.

 

The new car is gorgeous, I just ask they keep his iconic four eyes from his original design. His robot mode shouldn't change too much I hope.





Unfortunately Soundwave was changed to have only two eyes.

 

So far I think the potential for this film is far higher than any others. Against the common assumption that Michael Bay is a terrible director...he isn't not. Writers make up a huge part of the creative team. Many times writers are working on a script before a director is even hired. If a lazy writer is on the project, then there isn't much a non producing director can do. Now with a set of HIGHLY talented quality writers on board we can expect great things. I think paramount is going to greater lengths to produce more quality since Captain America: Civil War has set such a high bar for an excellent comic book movie.

The Mercedes-Benz army truck is most definitely Hound. Just because a character is a tough as nails warrior, doesn't mean he can't be a medic. Many armed forces train their soldiers in medical procedures. It would make perfect since for Hound to be somewhat of the medic.

And the argument against Barricade. Yes it's barricaded. Yes, he could have easily survived DOTM. I think it's perfectly logical to have him return as a Bumblebee menace. Most of these fanboys need to stop whining. The whole point of making a film is to create your own story. No filmmaker wants to recreate something they have already seen. And honestly...Most audiences wouldn't either. If a director made a direct copy of a transformers lore already existing. The backlash could possibly be greater than when they create their own original ideas. Go figure it out.

Not that I ever doubted whether it was Hound or not, and this isn't an official announcement, but it's certainly Hound in my book. I doubt that's something they would try to hide if someone stumbled onto the set. He has the pin up girl, he has the size for Hound, and the Decepticon insignias scratched out fit with Hound's character.

 

Yea it certainly seems pretty obvious that it's Hound. It's like seeing a yellow Camaro with black stripes, you know it's Bumblebee

 

Come on; for a robot? In a movie series where other robots can be reanimated from the dead but all powerful cube shards? Seems pretty plausible I'd say.
Plus Bonecrusher had his head cut off, and he seems okay by ROTF.

Not to split hairs, but as I said above Bonecrusher does come back in ROTF.

I think the whole Jazz death still bugs me a lot, bc we never actually got to know him as a character, he died in a way that wouldn't have killed a robot, he didn't exactly die in any heroic manner, and in 4 movies we never see Ratchet BE a medic, and try to save someones life. Ratchet doesn't even make an attempt to save Jazz, and none of the Autobots gave a shat about him.
So whenever I see a character come back from the dead in a Bayformers movie, Jazz is my go-to thought.

 

Like i said. Movie deaths are QUESTIONABLE at best.

But isn't "Bonecrusher" some dude that looks like him? Oh wait, he was in the HFTD Subline confirming he still lives!

 

Regardless of whether it's the real Barricade or no, I'm very much looking forward to seeing him in toy form.

 

I hope Frenzy comes back too. Or a new Rumble
