Yeah dude. And be prepared to store that bottle for a long time (cool dark place advised). I've been heavily using mine for like four years and am not even 1/4 through the bottle.

So perhaps a bit late to this party, but I just ordered mine this week, and should be getting him later today.

    Excited to see what's up!

A new MP arrival is always an exciting time. :)

I sold my fishing rod too for the same price. I do the same thing with all of the unnecessary accessories. Really does help offset the prices.

I'm getting these just for the tire stickers. I have clearance, but more is better. Besides, at the 1 cent promo, I couldn't pass. Got two, customer limit for the promo. By the way, did anyone do a video on how to take the pipes and engine off and paint them silver? I could probably figure it out, but some guidance would be nice.

Just opened up and transformed this guy today. Overall, I like this guy a lot. I think the backpack engineering was pretty neat, even if it didn't collapse as much as most would like, and the way the upper half tabs on securely is nice.

My only gripes really are the flat, odd-looking chest, the lack of any die cast in the feet (heavy-ish backpack makes him tricky to stand up straight for me), and the fact that, as far as I can tell, the waist/hip assembly does not tab in anywhere...it just folds backwards and sits there. I guess they did that for the fishing pose? Still would have been nice to have a tab...cause you can always untab it for that...

Finally pulled the trigger after skipping out on the last few MPs and I have to say I've finally found my definitive Hot Rod. The chest and back pack don't bother me at all in person, in fact I'm actually impressed by how condensed and secure the back pack is. Build wise I actually see a lot of functional overlap with the MP-17 mold (unflattering back kibble from a side profile, leg width compromised by transformation, amazing articulation, etc) so I have nothing but praise for MP-28's design.

That said, I've only transformed Hot Rod twice and already saw the chrome begin to flake (even visible in the pic below). The first coat of future is currently drying. It is a shame to see an amazing build hindered by QC.

Hopefully a Rodimus Prime v2 and Galvatron aren't too far off.

Has this mould been KO'd? There's a lot of really cheap Chinese sellers on eBay offering him for about $50.

I'm tempted to get one, but don't want to end up with a knock off.

I'm not sure if there is a KO yet, but you can get a legitimate one on Mandarake for around $65 shipped if you don't mind waiting a month for SAL. It's probably tanking in value because of the faulty, barely-on chrome that rubs off after a week of light handling. Just paint some Pledge floor polish with Future on those parts and you'll be fine.

There are no kos at the moment. The ones on ebay selling for less than $60 shipped are loose copies, usually with no box. Contents are placed in baggies I'd imagine.

Not to mention faulty tolerances resulting little to no undercarriage clearance and all four wheels not touching the ground.
BTW, Fanstoys is still moving forward with FT-17 Hoodlum, their MP Hot Rod.

My guess is a KO. If it's legit, then he sold badly. I can't imagine they've dropped the price this soon.

I don't have Hot Rod, but a friend does, and his collection usually gives me a glance into ones i may want, he collects some 3P too. I handled Hot Rod and transformed him many times. Not once did I have trouble getting his wheels to roll. Clearance is minimal yes, but he can roll just fine.

Personally I'm still debating if I want the MP or just get the TR version of him. He's not one I really need MP of, but I do like the MP a lot. I'm not even considering the Fans Toys version, I just don't want it.

    Ebay:
Now I am probably stupid, but I found an MP-28 Hot Rod on ebay for $18.99 shipped. I am sure it is either a scam or a loose factory reject or preproduction model. However the seller has a %100 rating and has mostly other Transformers/3rd party for sale. Also in his feedback there a quite a few recent purchases of MP-28/MP-30 that got positive feedback. All those were bought at a much more reasonable (not too good to be true) price.

I have had pretty good luck so far when buying TF from Chinese sellers in the past. However, I have never bought at a well under market value price before.

I have MP-09 and am fairly happy with it and really had no plans to get MP-28 (waiting for FT-17 Hoodlum), but for that price I thought I would take a chance. Worst case I am either out $20.00 or the figure has major QC issues and I give it to my 8 year old.

I saw a similar listing (might have been $17.99) - one piece of feedback for the seller was the paint on the face was awful and the seller didn't really deal with it well. Kind of sounds like a factory reject situation, but there were quite a few happy customers, too, so I'd go for it (I have MP-28, so I don't need this, but I'd bite otherwise)

For the price I paid as long as I get the figure I think I'll be ok. I expect some level of flaws with it. Hopefully they are fixable on some level.

    Ebay:
As I kind of expected. This looks to be a scam sale. I have a "tracking number" but it does not show up in any tracking sites. Also the sellers page now has 0 items for sale. So either I got one of the last ones he had for sale:rolleyes: , or he has taken the money and run.

As I have never been subject to something like this before, how long do I need to wait before I try to get my money back as the item was covered by the "eBay Money Back Guarantee"?
