    Yeah.

As much as I love the series, I don't know how you can really top all the ridiculousness going on in this one.

While it's a disappointment for anything Transformers related to end, I have to say I never really gave the book a chance. I know it was a stylistic choice, but the art just really killed any curiosity for me

I'm in the same boat. But maybe it's worth picking up a couple issues before diving into some TPBs since people seem to have enjoyed it.

That's where I'm at too. I was never real big on GI Joe growing up so any of the TF/Joe crossovers haven't really been something I've clamored for, and yes, the art on this particular book put me off big time. But once it's done and over with I may pick up the TPBs.

... Man, this is a huge bummer. I really enjoyed the fun/psychedelic vibe this comic had going for it.

    Oh well, ever forward.

Megatron's characterization in this book is a true joy. He is an evil sonuvabitch.

I look forward to the tpbs when the series has wound up. The bits I have seen have been trippy as heck! Better to quit while they were ahead, leave them wanting more, than run out of stream.

Thank Primus. This series was an absolute mess. It had some really good ideas, and I liked some of the world-building involving Earth's history with Cybertronians. Otherwise, it felt like a comic book from the 1970s', but without the charm. I understand that there are people who like this series, and I am at least glad that the creators have taken great pains to plan out the series' ending (if this were an animated series, lord knows Hasbro would've likely canned this thing after the third season). But it's not my cup of tea.

I was always under the impression this was a limited run. I was surprised the story continued as long as it did.

My LCS had said sales on the title had dropped, so I imagine this might have been the case for other stores too.

To be honest, as much as I enjoyed the story, I felt the old school feel lost the novelty fairly quickly and the flow of the story felt very choppy and disorganized. I like the artwork, but at some point it felt a bit over-the-top.

It really was a good story, but I feel as time went on, the writers may have backed themselves into a corner.

I could be wrong of course, but just my impressions.

I'm glad it's ending where Scioli wanted it to end. I've enjoyed the ride, but like most have said, there really wasn't a lot of places that the book could have gone from where it had already gone. The final issue should be a lot of fun.

My favorite TF comic by far since Furman's Marvel UK run, and at this point, this comic comes close to even supplanting that. Also, by far the best GI Joe comic not written by Hama since the original series ended.

I am going to miss this comic more than anything that's ended in many years, but I agree that it could not have continued indefinitely, with as relentlessly forward-pushing as it was. They played it safe exactly zero times, and there was no status quo to snap back to. Both worlds were changed irrevocably.

It's really going to be hard for me to get excited about ANY Transformers comics once this ends. :cry

I hope they collect the entire series into a deluxe oversized hardcover, like was done with G0dland.

I like your style. G0dland was an epic read. It's a shame that this book wasn't more liked, but it really did scratch my particular itch as far as what I want with my transformers books.

Good to see the book will die as it lived, with people calling the artwork bad because it wasn't done in the style they wanted.

    :rolleyes2

But honestly, you're right. It's not good artwork. It's great artwork.

Other than the toys, this is the only thing with the Transformers name that I liked. Ditto for GI Joe.

A shame to see it end. Huge fan of the book, but I think all of the delays hurt the pacing and probably sales. I'll have to give it a reread all in one go one of these days. Guess when it ends, I'll be giving Scioli's American Barbarian a go. Can't wait to read more Kirby-fueled comics from the guy.

Also, this book got me into IDW's Transformers comics and licensed comics in general. I turned my nose up a bit at them and felt they lacked creativity (From my experience, they mostly had). Grabbed this on FCBD and I was immediately in love. Like Afterlife with Archie before it, this radical reinvention was bursting with enough creativity to get me to check out the more traditional books.

I'd argue that the art is actually very good. I haven't read it myself because I don't know anything about GI Joe, but just by looking at the previews I can tell that a hell of a lot of love, skill and effort has gone into making every single page uphold the same old-school art-style. It's quite impressive, really.
