That would have been even more awesome. I was trying to convey that they've started to stretch teams of characters across multiple price points (vertical), rather than across a single price point (horizontal). We've seen some of this in the past, but I can't recall any instances where a very explicitly defined team stretched across 3 price points -- e.g. you buy your Legends Powerglide to go with your 4 Deluxe Aerialbots and one Voyager Silverbolt. It seems to have done well encouraging sales, especially at the Voyager price point, which is why I was curious as to whether we'd see it expanded upward towards the Leader or Titan price point.
Well done Ian! I a little hard to hear sometimes, but that's the nature of how live recordings go. But it's much appreciated, thanks again!
FWIW it was not recorded to be a podcast. I found out we were going to interview Hasbro the night before and had to come up with questions. I expected them to reveal Titan Wars based on what we had found in the Hasbro banner. We found out a bit before the interview that they weren't going to, so I had to change a bunch of my questions on the fly. Obviously I had no audio gear as I didn't know we'd be interviewing, so Tony_Bacala just used his phone. We were required by Hasbro to record it for literal translation, but after Super_Megatron suggesting offering it up to the WTF@TFW crew as well. Long story short, next time the audio quality will be better.
Yeah the lack of Vertical pricepoint scale was something I missed and felt a bit un-nerved by with age of extinction. I think encourageing interplay between legends, and the deluxe and voyager toys again is helping as well. And not just being its cyberverse collection. By the response of the Anniversary question. Sounds like the 30th anniversary of the 86 movie is going to be the big deal next year. The way they brought it up it just seemed like they tipped their hand of something Hasbros marketing was frothing over. Hopefully we'll get a toy nod to old RID firetruck prime. And some have speculated that they could do a car bros and prime combiner team. The only thing maybe holding that concept back. Is waryness to promote and celebrate the one piece of transformers media that is in Saban rights limbo under Disney. Though we did get a Titanium six inch RID prime despite that.
