    as a parent

i think the rid line catches a lot of heat it doesn't deserve. those things are right up a 4-8 year olds alley. i couldn't see buying any of the big oversized things but thats just me and includes large storm troopers, batman, or anyone else

    thats a nice magnus.

Leader Ultra Magnus... wow. Exactly what I wanted from an Ultra Magnus figure. I'm glad I held off on the MP, because I honestly like the way this one looks more. I'm sure that the MP may be put together better, and probably higher-quality, but aesthetically, I prefer this one. Pre-ordered at the first opportunity!
Devestator... so, so bought. I think he looks great. I also do not believe that any of the 3rd-party offerings look so much better that it justifies the price difference between the two. So, again, very happy with this one!
Cyclonus... does not look better than the previous Deluxe version. However, does not look horrible. I'm not certain what problem people seem to have with the head. I will probably get this to go toe-to-toe with Ultra Magnus, but I still like the old one better.
The Protectabots... not perfect, but I think they look good. Scale has never been perfect with Transformers, so I wish they'd left Groove alone, but I'll still get them.
RiD... don't care. Didn't look at them, not something I'm interested in.

Finally a Leader class Ultra Magnus he looks awesome a great mix of G1 and IDW Magnus will look great in my collection.

I really want to see Hasbro make more Leader class figures like a Leader class Rodimus Prime.

Leader class Armada Optimus Prime to go with the Leader class Armada
    Megatron.

    Leader class Armada Overload.

    Leader class Warpath.

    Leader class Astrotrain.

    Leader class Sixshot.

Leader class Starscream and Skywarp and the rest of the Seekers to go with the Leader class Thundercracker.

    Leader class Overlord.

And a Leader class Galvatron that is not a recolor or retool of the Leader class Megatron.

Not sure if it was discussed here or not but TFWiki's coverage adds some insight to some of the characters.

Toy Fair 2015 - Transformers Wiki

Blackjack was, obviously, designed to be Runabout and Offroad was originally meant to be Ruckus. Rook is entirely new and his head is based on a "rook" chess piece.

If this is not a hand painted prototype, it just struck me that the amount of painted details, particularly on the robot mode chests, is pretty good for a recent Hasbro figure.

From these pics (not the official promo ones) it looks possible that Scrapper might have a half assed kind of elbow joint. It looks like the arms turns at the hub of the wheel where the purple joint meets Scrappers torso. However the green piece that is his forearm also looks like it turns, and that it could be a separate piece from his upper arm. This would not be ideal, or even good, but would still be better than having nothing.

Please don't blast me as an apologist or a white knight for wanting this to be good. I have a Herc on my shelf and haven't ruled out Giant yet, so there is no personal agenda going on here, other than me wanting to see the best version of Devastator yet.

Love the direction of these artistic photographs...but does anyone have a head on shot of Devy? With the exception of the Hasbro stock photo that is.

Magnus looks GREAT! His robot mode looks a lot larger than the truck form would have you believe.

So they designed Ruckus for the Stunticons instead of Wildrider, than decided "hey, WTF, Ruckus isn't a Stunticon!" and made him into Offroad.

    What?

Wow, it really is like the post-Kenner period all over again. I haven't heard reasoning that inept and vapid since that time period. And Rook has a rook chess piece head. OK. That's cool...have they ever heard of Rook? The G2 Decepticon everyone would have hoped this was if we didn't know it was a Protectobot?

I try to be nice but I really wonder where they find some of these people. I wonder when we will get Runabout since we know we are getting Hot Rod. Hopefully at some point. Don't claim trademark on the name. Yeah, you won't be able to sue other people to make more money, get over it and do something right.

Was there any masterpiece mentions? Or is that usually regulated to a different outlet?

Leader Ultra Magnus looks good. And the Protectobots look nice individually, but as Defensor, it's a little unsatisfying.

I should've been more clear. They've ruined their own figures. As such, My money will now be spent on 3rd party figures.

However, "ruined forever" is unrealistic as I still LOVE the comics. I've been considering selling some of my Figure collection so that I have room for the better figures. Beast Wars and Beast Machines, RID (new and old), Prime and Beast Hunters, Classics and Universe, Energon and Cybertron. These are the figures I'm thinking about getting rid of. I'm still a fan of Transformers, but Hasbro won't be getting any of my money after this year.

I still love Armada to this day. But you have to admit, even the Armada toys were better than a lot of the shit Hasbro's been putting out these past few years. Also nice Profile Pic.

No, he doesn't have to admit it. It's based on his opinion.

I'm actually happy for most we got. Devastator was very underwhelming but at his size and price point I had decided against this before the pics so no biggie there. Magnus exceeded all expectations by far so super happy for thag one. Cyclonus is just a big "why did we need this" out of me but no biggie since I still love my Universe one so that makes him an easy skip. The RID line is ok, nothing spectacular but I only have Strongarm and Bee and that will be all I purchase. My son liked the looks of the RID line Warrior and Minicons figures so who knows. Over all not a bad reveal though I was really hoping to see the Legends Sharcticons by now. Really can't wait for Magnus!
