Dino Combiner Head

I think I saw this head earlier but I got one and here it is painted on the body. Hope this helps anyone looking for a head, also it's found on shapeways under Dinobot Combiner Head.

 

Be gentle?! This thing looks incredible! What a novel idea to have the dinobots combine into an actual beast instead of the typical massive robot. Great job!

Hello all. I am new here just signed up today. I have been going through these threads for DAYS now. Looking forward to checking out all the other stuff around here. Some of the paint jobs I've seen on this figure alone are super! I recently started collecting some of the stuff that I had when I was a kid transformers wise. I came across this thread and HAD to have one. So I picked up this off ebay. I was expecting mostly garbage but I am extremely pleased for the most part with the quality. it feels more heavy duty then I was expecting. But I will one by one take care of the flaws with it. Now the down side is it is missing one of the clips that goes into not-snarl for the foot. Does anyone know if I can order that part or does anyone happen to have an extra they would like to part with?

 

Finally caved and ordered this set, plus the star rescue team too. Any alternative configurations to them, are they scramble city style etc?

 

I was checking out the Chinese KO maker's web site who manufactured this combiner and happened to find the listing for the combined mode box set. According to translations, the combined mode is called Ares. Wish it had not been a name used by another third party Transformer combiner, but now we know his name at least!

Update

Just received them.Joints are fine.Slag's horns are both right but i can live with that.The feet are falling off faster then you can say the word fall. Lots of work to be done and repaints to get them ready.

Dino mode is great they look good together and will compliment any Dinobots collector.(like me)

BUt all in all.Its a good purchase.For the price its a real steal for the price and the amount of figures you get.

 

After some consideration i am going to do a entire repaint of the whole team and turn them into Shattered Glass Dinobots.

Here is my progress so far.

Took me 4 hours with the help of COunterpunch to make the modifications to all the dinobots then 3 hours to prime and paints Grimlock.Since he is the biggest, i dont foresee that the rest will take as long but i could be wrong.

I was having more fun with Google translate and the AOE recolor renames of these toys. The Scorn colored Snarl here is called "Hao Hou", which I think is supposed to mean "great tail" a reference to his mighty tail weapon, sadly google translate turned in into "good rear".

 

For the AOE color version of the T-Rex, his name is 钢霸, and says "Gang Ba" under that name. Now 钢霸 is translated as Steel Tyrant, so how did they get Gang Ba as the English transltion? I think Gang is Chinese for 'hard", so hard like steel. Ba is most likely a misspelling of "pa", as in father, which is an alternate translation to tyrant. So Steel Tyrant is turned into Gang Ba.

 

Found a nice source for the AOE color versions of the team pretty cheap from a reliable source.

This Aliexpress seller, with lots of positive feedback is selling them the limbs for about $9 each and 12 for the torso, with free shipping. Toys are loose without box.

Does anyone know where to find the AOE colored Knockoffs of these figures? I really only want the Swoop.

I thought i'd necro this thread as I had a few observations to add.

1) Other than Shapeways did anyone other make these guys a combined mode helm ?

2) Is there something wrong with my guns as I can't plug them together one of them has a huge hole in it that is to large for the other pegs to slot into - am I supposed to be using one of the spear shafts inside - or am I missing a tiny piece ?

As I noticed the Junkion Blacksmith set the weapons are based on has a couple of additional pieces I'm also lacking such as a pommel and a small blue (or red) connector. is that required to combine the guns.

I can make up other combinations but not the 'official one' seemingly. I'll try to add a picture sometime if what I am saying isn't obvious.

They are not missing, while the TFC dinos are original molds, the weapons are KO weapons of the set you mentioned.
And if you buy the other TFC combiner Star Rescue Force, you get the "missing" bits which do fit together with the weapons that come with the dinos.
And yes being KO weapons some of the pegs etc are not the best and may need a file or sand to fit. All of my ones were super tight.

 

TFC sure has come a long way.
