Predestination paradox - Terminator Wiki Great read about the terminator closed loop that applies to this same situation. I was just using the movie to give an example of a closed loop but this can also equate EXACTLY to your Rung problem. Sorry but it is exactly the same situation. Rungs Genesis is the paradox.
Except Rung has knowledge of the events that lead to him travelling through time. It's literally impossible for him to be the same one, since he'd know he was from the future. Unless he conveniently loses his memory out of massive contrivance.
Well, The Time Crew has the ability to remove peoples memories with their hand-shaking thing. They did it last issue with Pax and Company.
Rewind II mentions that Rung was "lost" in the initial quantum jump thingie and as a result Animus was used as Sparkeater bait instead.
Time travels and paradoxes. I am inclined to say that the Rung in the bar is our Rung, but what is he doing assembling the model ship? To make it fits Nightbeat and Orion's story? After the bar incident, the team will probably jump to other space-time. The past Rung is the one in the historic moments. He is just that lucky. Also note that Riptide is constructed cold but has compatible spark with Brainstorm. I thought constructed cold Bots share spark type with The Matrix only?
I'm thinking that .01% spark brainstorm is carrying might BE orion pax. He's not there to kill him, but make sure he's born! Who else could stand in the way of the functionalists?

For IDW it's usualy around 7:30 GMT. Marvel around Midday GMT. New issues don't always appear imeadiately on the series page, running a search for the title works better.
Rung not only has memories of traveling, but of his creation. There is a difference between a predestination paradox and simply existing without a precursor event.
