Motormaster is alot better looking than Prime, but not up there with SB.
Menasor's head looks too much like Unicron and definitely need Black Jack to fill in the empty chest space on Menasor.

Overall, I can't wait for all the Stunticons and what 3rd parties will do for the CW series

I can definitely see leaving Blackjack separate from Menasor. So, do the gun and sword combine? I've heard they do but don't remember seeing pics of them combined.

Thanks for the additional pics! I gotta say..combiner torso just looks so much nicer than Prime's. Really like the molding on the closed chest: already very G1 accurate so you don't neccesarily need Blackjack. And the windvanes cover up the fists on the shoulders, at least from the front.

    Nice!

Motor Masters sword and gun combine to make Menasors big sword and you can see it in his right hand in the original pictures.

He looks a million times better with the chest closed imho. That's Menasor, he looks great in that pic! Can't wait.

Also durability issues and needlessly complex transformation so its really not even worth $400 people paid, totally the worst 3rd party figure I ever got, the Hasbro one at least seems fun.

Not worth the 400 for you maybe. I prefer the 3rd party to the hasbro and feel it was worth every penny. I enjoy the engineering and while some say it's over engineered I feel it's just right for someone that wants something more advanced. also the proportions of Fansproject's blows Hasbro away. Also I may have gotten lucky but I haven't had any "durability" issues with mine.

Now Owning both. I will agree with you the Hasbro one can be seen as more fun converting it back and forth quickly, and due to it's simplicity makes it more Playable and FP's is more display piece.

Each is great for 2 different target audiences and the cost is right for what you're paying for with each.

Well shear amount of ones with broken ankles say there is a problem, that is a bitter pill to swallow on $100 let alone a $400 one. I am more of the school that says if its a display peace it doesn't need to transform, if its a toy it shouldn't be a pain in the arse to transform.

On topic though, I am very impressed with how hasbro have managed to make this both toon accurate and toy accurate depending on weather you attach blackjack or not, that is some impressive thinking on their part. Only thing that still confusing me is why they gave blackjack menasors sword hilt as an ax but then down seem to have made the sword able to attach to it.

Agreed wholeheartedly, especially with the durability. I have yet to have any durability concerns with my Intimidator and I transform ( <-- beat) the hell out of my Intimidator team :lol

That's really great. I can't wait for the next Combiner wave to hit retail but I'm tempted to order online as well

This mold looks much better as MotorMaster than Optimus, but I miss the trailer. Why is is so difficult to incorporate one into the design? Hasbro often treats trailers like an expendable accessory or bonus, instead of being integral to characters like: Optimus, MotorMaster, Ultra Magnus, and Onslaught. Many versions of these characters are trailer-less.

The new RID Optimus, although simplistic, does integrate it's trailer with some success, but I'd even have preferred it if MotorMaster's trailer parts-formed into combiner bits, or extra weapons, or a gun emplacement.

As it stands, it looks Ok & I like it, and I want it anyway...

Menasor decided he didn't need blackjack after Powerglide tried out for the posish.

I think the reasons they went with trailorless Motormaster is that A. it makes it easier to make Optimus Prime out of it and B. he scales better with his teammates in alt mode. Scale isn't always a concern but in this case the smaller truck mode does look more plausible. Plus it's still a bit of a modern update as opposed to a replica of the onscreen appearance; these figures draw rather heavily from the cartoon but they're still unique and modern takes on those designs.
