Any time I hear 'Mini Masterpiece figures' my mind always thinks back to the THS figures and am saddened that line died with only two molds.
Hasbro is totally missing an opportunity for a great repaint with the white prime and the rest of the Stunticons. Ultra Magnus as the torso, Brakedown into Hot Rod, Dead End as Arcee, Drag Strip as Blurr, Offroad as Kup and Blackjack as Wheelie.
Greeblejeeper is awesome! wait.. what? Take that CW Optimus Prime, put blue paint on the feet, silver in the rims, and red on the windshield visor, it makes it feel like a whole new toy! Going to wait to see what reprolables does for any smaller details, but just that simple painting does worlds of improvement.
Live action Transformers show starring Universal Studios Megatron. Why hasn't it happened yet? Or a series using those kind of suits but with characters that would make more sense to be that size.
Transformers Hybrid Style. Mini Masterpiece figures made of Galaxy Convoy and G1 Convoy at around 4" in height.
I know, right? It definitely took me a minute to figure out he was even saying saute. It looks tasty though.
There's speculation that a Voyager combiner wars Cyclonus is in the works. While that sounds odd I think it makes sense. IDW fans want a cyclonus that's larger and not the Uniiverse2.0 one, and the easy retool/reuse of the fig is scattershot.
hmmm, I hadn't heard the CW Hot Spot remolded as Onslaught rumor/theory. It does make since their respective G1 toy transformations were nearly identical.
I've been listening to this podcast long enough that it just roll off my back when Vangelus invents new pronunciations for things. Thanks for answering my question, guys. It was very interesting listening to your thoughts.
I cringed when Vangelus said he used soap on cast iron. All that delicious seasoning, gone Also, the "rage" about Generations Devastator having "simple" transformations was hilarious. As you guys mentioned Combiner Wars are very simple figures, but great toys. Also, I'm sure a number of those complaining about Devastator have Hercules, Warbotron, or Titan Metroplex, who are all very simple.
Wow it's funny to hear Kokomo Toys mentioned on another podcast besides What's On Joe Mind? Tod the owner is a friend of Gary's and a sponsor of the show. Usually the prices are solid especially on newer stuff. Vangelus, my dad has a cast iron skillet he washes it normally but treats it with just a touch of olive oil.
I'm pretty sure I've listened to every episode. Best off topic discussion. Ever. We got our own little cooking show.
The idea of a live-action Transformers show with a minimal CGI budget is really interesting. The best way I think it could be done is by downplaying the "giant robots" part and really focusing on the "aliens in disguise as vehicles." Probably the best thing to do is more or less copy the early IDW Infiltration protocol; have a small team of Autobots led by Prowl hiding out on Earth, interacting with humans through holomatter avatars. You could even just straight-up make a police procedural/detective show with Prowl working for a police department investigating Decepticon activity while covering it up at the same time. Meanwhile, you can have other characters like Bumblebee or Jazz who are interacting with more humans and Earth culture in their own investigations. That way you build up your Autobot protagonists as more relatable characters, as they're posing as humans. You could save any real robot reveal for later on in the show, plus Optimus and Megatron could show up at the end of the season. It wouldn't be much of a Transformers show in the traditional sense, but I think that's the only way to really do it convincingly and make for audience-grabbing TV. Plus you could have Peter Cullen actually play Optimus Prime in human form, which would be pretty badass.
