Hmmm... Looking at this and FT's perceptor, they almost look like brothers... A lot of similar design.

 

yeah, i understand that. An approach like yours allows for a much greater degree of variation and selection. Nothing wrong with that. Personally i'd be after this if it were classics sized, but since henkei optimus is my default CHUG optimus prime...can't have ironhide be bigger than his best buddy.

 

i guess I'll be selling my Igear vans and will be buying Takara's Ironhide. TFC's effort seems good, but I have a feeling that Takara will push it further to what an MP Ironhide is in my book (hopefully).

 

I like the look of this Ironhide, but I'm willing to give TT a chance to show what it has before I make a final decision, so I'm hoping that they'll have at least shown a grey prototype by the time that TFC's is hitting retailers.

 

The igear versions while good at the time, did rub me the wrong way with some of the bot aesthetics. I hate the regular faces they came with. Whoever keeps making that mouth needs to stop cause it's all over 3p products and its ugly.

This mold has the bulk to be repurposed into a plethora of other characters. I might pick this up just for that if price is fair or keep as iron hide and repurpose the igear versions.

 

Bought if Takara does not come out with mp iron hide.

The scale is perfect & the look is G1 accordingly. As long as they limit the weight to it's proportions I'd be happy. They can pull of a KFC Transistor with this one with that lite weight I like on my MP's.

looks good. I like the igear but this looks more durable.

 

Hopefully it's before the MP one comes out this year. I don't see many getting this guy over that.

 

Well lets wait for the TT pictures. Maybe with a 3rd party alternative i would have not picked up TT Bumblebee MP...

 

That seems like a fairly safe assumption. As far as I know this is their only revealed project that hasn't been released other then the last Prometheus piece.

 

I definitely plan on this for my mp Ironhide, and 50/50 whether going for this or official for ratchet... Because I'm not a huge fan of duplicates.for instance, I bought TT prowl for $55 shipped, but only bought streak coz he was $32 for a ko, otherwise pass. I bought mp03 walscream and mp11 tcracker, but only bought mp03 skywarp coz he was dirt cheap, otherwise, it looks off paying $$$ for essentially the same damn toy multiple times in different colors... With this, Ironhide and ratchet don't look identical, which is aces in my book... Dunno, tho... Really depends on what TT pulls out of the hat, since I do really like this mold...

 

This. I'm going to make my decision based on which figure is better between the two. At this point is I think it's safe to say that TT has real competition from these 3P companies.
