I would be fine if the Constructicon team were Deluxe Scrapper, Deluxe Bonecrusher, Deluxe Mixmaster, Deluxe Scavenger and Voyager Long Haul. I can go without Hook.

If they were smart and couldn't handle making Hook be upper torso and leg component capable then they should figure an in story reason to bring Scrapper back and instead of him taking over leg component duty as leader he replaces Prowl allowing a compromise I'd be willing to accept...Bonecrusher, Hook, Scavenger & Mixmaster would be scramble-city capable to fit what I believe is the story with Combiner Wars...IDW fans would have Prowl for Prowlastator...G1 to CHUG fans get a six-bot combiner with the team leader forming the head/upper torso...

Nice thought BScorpinok, it would be an easy compromise, but you realise some would still argue it's not "right" as Hook and Scrapper aren't in the "right" positions.

Holy Crap, I think he's cracked the code.

That is also a very good point.

    Call me picky, but -- (twitches) -- I need a six-bot Devastator.

At that point Has/Tak only lose the strict G1 purist...you still get your target audience of parents buying for kids...they'd still have the Classics-Generations crowd that are accepting of slight change in re-interpretation of their favorite G1 characters...you still have those few G1ers (probally not alot) that are just happy to have a CHUG Devestator...and the growing IDW group that'll buy Prowlastator...that should make up 80% percent or more fans that will still purchase...and there will still be double and triple dippers for multi-mode displays as well as customizers making purchases...then a year or so later half the strict G1 crowd will pay double for Devestator because some 3PCO jumps in to make upgrades that allow for a proper Devestator...
