Sorry Vangelus, but I have to agree with TJ and Aaron on this. The current IDW TfvsJoe comic just look horrible. I've read the free issue and I just don't want to read the rest of it.

Plus it doesn't help that I'm sick to death of TfvsJoe comics.

i wouldn't be sick of it if it was done the right way. this comic....i get what it's TRYING to do. i know it's TRYING to have an 80s feel with the art, the dialogue, the intentional faded or discolored look but im just not feeling it. im getting the issues because i collect the stuff just like i did windblade but im not a big fan of it. you can do a "love letter" of sorts to a specific era but do it with a modern day way. justice league new frontier is a great example of how it could work.

Oh man, what if the Action Master Elites showed up in Transformers vs G.I. Joe. They'd fit in perfectly.

I'm no comics expert, I've only recently started getting into actual super hero stuff, but I'm pretty sure the art is going for an older Kirby-esque style. More 60s-70s. And I've been loving it. My main complaint is that it's been a bit too Joe centric for my tastes.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, while being aware of the various reasons why they wouldn't use it: The perfect pre-Earth Tarantulas would be made from Cybertron Dirt Boss.
    - The wheels provide the vague body shape of the spider legs in both modes
    - The "speedy" key-activated vehicle mode is wide and low to the ground like a spider
    - He's got shoulder weapons like Tarantulas's Transmetal form
    - It matches the rest of the '06 pre-Earth stuff, which I'm sure more people care about than the recent alternate universe BW story

Gotta say, I feel the GI Joe/TF book is probably the best TF book on the shelves right now, and I say that as a massive fan of MTMTE and RID. Even beyond the art (which I find fantastic and really creative) there's a bold New vision for Transformers that is great to see. It's nice to see something reimagined from the ground up as the possibilities are endless.

I can see why more traditional tf fans won't like it as its really trying not to be a standard tf comic. But any book where Megatron has tamed Trypticon, stuck a throne in his mouth and rides around in him as a mobile Dragon castle is cool in my book.

In a time where it seems like all most people want is the same stuff regurgitated back to them again and again it's nice to see someone try something original.

Why does Vangelus keep calling Ordin Groin? Is it because of his impressive prostate protector he got from his short baseball career in the minors?

Because the way the name is stylized makes the "O" look like a "G" and the "D" look like an "O"

edit: Nevermind, looks like the picture Vangelus posted has the name altered, so I guess it's just a stupid joke.

Listening back to the 3D printer talk this morning I came to a better analogy as to why I don't think that 3D printing factories for large quantities are going to be a thing for quite a while, if at all.

Look at 2D printing. Almost everyone has a printer at home, and that technology has gotten better since ribbon ink and tractored pages. And the prospect of printing off a binder's worth of paper isn't as daunting as it would have been 20 years ago. But if you were going to print 100 binders of the same thing out, you'd probably go to a print shop because they have better technology in a high speed laserjet. Now if you had to print 10,000 or more of those binders, you'd probably look into getting them bound into a book and taking care of it that way, and they wouldn't likely use a fancy laserjet but an honest to goodness press. Because having a set slate removes QC issues and lets you do the same repetitive thing over and over again at a higher rate of speed.

That's exactly it. A bad font with poor readability.

if i have to guess? id say because the middle of the codpiece on Ordin seriously looks like a robot dick and he turns into a child when it comes to penis jokes. watch any tfcon shafter or the toyworld hardbone review and you'll see what im talking about.

Yeah, the current GI Joe vs. Transformers isn't worth downloading for free. It's a travesty of art, and we should not reward IDW with actually purchasing anything with that chicken scratch on it.

On the bright side, I love the Nacelle and G2 Starscream. Still waiting for the other Rainmakers, Black Starscream, Air Warrior and the unreleased G2 Seekers.

Then once we have all the Seekers done, they can start using the Cloud Starscream mold to repaint into ALL the same guys!

As for Ordin and "Groin", sorry, don't see it. I think Vangelus needs his eyes checked.

Fun episode, but I have to ask a question. How is Nerf Rebele a step forward for gender equality? It's a girls line directed explicitly at girls and is an explosion of pinks and pastels as per the norm for girls toys. Just curious why you think this is a great step forward, Vangelus? It seems to be your go-to example of toy companies needing to stop marketing boys vs. girls.

Also, the vitriol of MP Star Saber and Exhaust is hilarious.

Vangelus and TJ, you guys are silly with your Mandarake orders. Isn't only a $5 fee if your order is under $50, but you two will spend an additional $15+ to avoid a $5 fine. Silliness :)

Wow you guys totally can't seem to handle Exhaust being colored like a package of cigarettes. I don't suppose anyone ever told you that Mirage is colored like a pack of cigarettes too?

I literally urinated myself twice during the discussion, I was so unable to cope.

It's a blurring and taking down of what once was a very solid decades-long "this is boys toys" dividing line in a main IP of a large toy company, struck me as forward thinking and creating a clear marketed statement from the ground level up that Nerf's for everyone.
