So, haven't finished listening to the Podcast just yet, but I did listen to the bit about the potential Shattered Glass GI Joe. One idea, might be that Cobra is still a Terrorist Organization bent on World Domination.

The only difference? They are the lesser of two evils, compared to GI Joe. Or to quote from a great short story set in Jim Butcher's Dresden Files books:

And if you aren't reading (or listening) the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!? The audiobooks are read by James Marsters, SPIKE from the Buffy TV show.

Also, I recommend starting with Summer Knight or Blood Rites. The earlier books aren't bad, but they are a bit clunky. And the later books do a fair job of filing you in on what has happened before, plus they all work fairly okay as independent books.

Well, except for post Changes. But that book is in the teens, & isn't a concern for a new reader.

I don't recognize the quote, but also enjoy the Dresden Files. I have several signed books.
That said, ignore KevinSig's advice on order and start at the beginning. They're not that clunky and fill you in on important details what WILL be relevant in later books.

I would not recommend Black Cat unless you're prepared to use a stand with her.
    Her feet are terrible.

Also, if Seth had the same problem as I did then his Superior Spider-man's arm is not miss-assembled. The shoulder is just articulated oddly in the package.
You can just twist it around without popping anything out.
edit: Went back and looked at Seth's twitter pictures of the figure(Is that creepy?), and if that's before you did anything to it then that's definitely not the same problem I had.

My Spider-Girl was the same way.
Also, she doesn't have the amazing articulation the Spider-men have. She's using the generic "teenage" girl body they have.

Sorry that all my posts in these threads seem to be Marvel Legends related...hmmm... I personally think Lio Convoy's deco is pretty cool?

I like the Freedom fighters vs. totalitarian government idea with GI Joes, but I think it'd be even cooler with Cobra as the government and Joe as the rebels. Not as a "All Hail Megatron" sort of thing, more like Cobra has always been in charge and Joe was founded as a terrorist organization opposing them. The Joes can still be the "good guys", but because of their position have to resort to outright terrorism in order to fight against Cobra. Likewise Cobra can still be evil and totalitarian but still a functioning society, enough so that there are some citizens who don't want the extremist Joes upending the status quo in the name of "Freedom".

Also, has anyone done an independent Star Saber yet? Because if not I'd like to volunteer "Sidereus Szabla" as a potential name.

If Cobra were freedom fighters I can imagine the name being an evolution of the "Don't Tread on Me" snake idea. Neat.

The quote is from the Thomas POV short story Backup. Found in either Side Jobs, or the original Novelette, that apparently was illustrated by Mike Mignola.

The story also gets somewhat referenced in Cold Days. As the warehouse where Harry gets attacked by Redcap, is a set piece in Backup.

If you like Hulk Hogan/Ultimate Warrior type of wrestling you won't like CM Punk. If you like Macho Man/Ricky Steamboat style you'll enjoy CM Punk.

My Third party name for a hypothetical Doubledealer figure would be Dualitron.

I'm not through the podcast but I just wanted to say how much I appreciate how much Archer's 3rd party talk has been represented on this podcast and how civil it's been. I think you both share relatively the same opinion of me in that Archer's opinion is really important to at least add to the discussion even if some people don't agree with it. (also I think it's kind of important people hear what he has to say because otherwise I think we lose track of what, at the crux, a lot of these companies are doing)

Great podcast though! Continue to listen all these years.

Just to answer the FP vs Official Menasor question of why sell? I'm selling mine because I live in a place where space isn't plentiful. I have no need for multiple iterations of the same character.

Also I fell into the third party combiner craze and have found that, much like triple changers, something has to give. I find FP Menasor to be far better than the individual components and Motormaster to be a mess.

I'm not selling to make a point but to make space and fund combiner wars.

I really want to see some third party (ULTP) Boob Meisters now!

Their names are already very ULTP to begin with, their actual ULTP names would be bananas.
