Well, I'm not bothering with Red Bumblebee. If Hasbro can't bother to give Cliffjumper his real head, I can't bother to buy it.
Can't deny I'm surprised that CJ doesn't have a new head, but considering Classics did have one either, I can't say I'm as let down either. Just means I'm skipping him for now until he goes on sale or something. Really not a fan of that Legends BB mold. Nemesis Prime never any doubt I'd want. Real shocker though is how great his targetmaster partner came out. Things may not look so shiny in the end, but that deco just works in all the right ways on that little guy. Instantly turned my feelings from hate to love.
The Cliffjumper and Bumblebee heads are so similar to me I'd actually find it a waste.... Save that retool potential for someone who really needs it... And here I thought I'd actually find a botcon image thread without people complaining....
...looking at the Voyager IDW Prime being offered... I think they should've upscaled and retooled this figure... because yea... Voyager IDW Prime looks bad.
I, too, am disappointed that the new head didn't transpire, but they did the same thing in the Classics line. They all look delicious, though.
Yeah, I've pretty much accepted Cliffjumper not getting new head sculpts. Don't care. It looks great. Much needed for the shelf.
Don't care about Nemesis Prime, only one I ever really cared about was RiD Scourge. Cliffjumper being just a red Bumblebee, which is not what Cliffjumper is, means he is an easy pass too. O-for-2.
I will buy Cliffy for my collection of him but i agree with everyone else on him needing his own head sculpt get rid of the vehicle decals and give him a different head
I never had the Optimus since I already had the original Legends Prime and Bee. So this will suit my needs fine for both
I know it was never going to be anything else, but I'm kind of disappointed Nemesis Prime is only an Optimus repaint. At least they swapped Bumblebee and Optimus' weapon partners. That helps a little.
Why does Hasbro keep insisting on doing Cliffjumper as a Bumblebee repaint when all they shared was a transformation scheme? We should be getting Glyph as the repaint! Cliffjumper was a Porsche. So if he has to be a redeco/remold of anyone, he should be a red Jazz!
That would work even less then being a Bee repaint. Just because the alt-mode brands are closer doesn't mean it works for the character design. And it's a little moot in this case given the car mode if completely made up either way. As a Cliff fan, I'm fine with this. If it was a bigger figure, then I might have expected a different head, but at this size it doesn't bother me. I will pic this up if I ever see it.
Like I said in the other thread, I'm all-in for the new Generations Legends. I don't even mind that Cliffjumper is basically a Red Bumblebee. Personally, I consider it a nod to the Diaclone/G1 toys (even if that wasn't Hasbro's intention). Of course, I'd love for Hasbro to put out an official Bumper/Bumblejumper toy in the Legends line. That would be amazing.
How is this a nod to the G1/Microman figures? Bumblebee and Cliffjumper were completely different molds - all they shared was a transformation scheme. Now if the red version were still sold as Bumblebee, that would be a nod to G1! This figure should be Glyph.
