Ah so the Dark Spark is the anti-Matrix. ok sure.

This game keeps reminding me of bad fan fiction.

I'm a bit worried that so far, none of the WFC/FOC characters have been seen interacting with AOE characters, and vice-versa. I am interested to see how this will play out, though.

I am in love with that scene of looking over G1 Prime's shoulder.

... which could in turn explain the humans losing control of their 'creations', brand new Cons infused with new sparks from an ancient Decepticon relic? ... *sighs* ... I can dream I suppose.

But regardless, I'll be getting this game, I know it's a different dev, but the sheer High Moonery of it hath swayed the decision for me!

Or old Sparks (like Megatron) reanimated by the Dark Spark. I could see something like that. :)

I still remember when people bought and played video games they enjoyed and ignored games they didn't have fun playing. If a game wasn't good, they just didn't play it. I mean, if a friend asked if a game was good and it wasn't, I'd say, "Nah, it sucks!" They'd ask why, I'd tell them why I thought it was shit. They'd borrow it from someone or go rent it, and decide whether to buy it or not. No one accused anyone but the makers of causing a game to be "rushed, unfinished and repetitive." Thanks for makin' shit personal, though. Shout out to James Rolfe!! Nerd Rage 4 Life!! :rock

Having talked with Peter for well over an hour back at BotCon 2007, he can sometimes sound like this during a conversation. The man carefully chooses his words and from the look of the video, it does seem like he was recalling the information he learned about the game while giving his own unscripted, improvised description of what the game is all about. When he's telling you an old story, yes, his speech is fluid and quick, but if he is describing something, he gets very picky (in a good way) on what words he uses and how he tells you something. A think before you say it approach. I see nothing wrong with his manner of speech in the video.

He's the reason? It has nothing to do with the shorter development time? This is a movie tie in so if you expect this to have the quality of an average AAA game that has 2-3 years of development then your current attitude is down to your own naivety.

I think a video supposed to promote your upcoming product should do a better job than 'put the voice actor in front of the camera and let him improvise'.

You're right, there's definitely nothing wrong with his manner of speech, it's just that - in this video- it comes off as if he's clueless or reading lines that are not his.

Again, this is not negative critism from me towards Mr. Cullen at all - I find it completely understandable a voice actor brought in to record his lines has no clear idea of what the game would be all about, other than a general overview and the stuff that's in his script. :)
He's not there as part of the development team, building the levels and what not. :thumb

I guess all it boils down to for me is that this is yet another example of how this game looks like it's only given the bare minimal effort to be produced and promoted, which is a shame, especially when you compare it to WFC/FOC.

You're sort of right, but let's not forget: they did decide to purposely lean on the credibility WFC/FOC has built up.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying those games were the end-all of Transformers (or gaming in general), but they were generally well received, even outside of Transformers fandom. It's seen in a more positive light (critically speaking, let's not brush away the fact the movies does have a lot of fans and continues to make money) than anything Transformers Michael Bay has been involved in and had quite the reach in the world of videogames.

It's smart that Activision/developer went with heavy assets reuse, because that means they'll have to spend less time setting up the building blocks and can go into actual content creation much sooner.
But don't for even a second think that the publisher is doing this so they can actually churn out an incredibly awesome movie tie-in game for once (even though a developer's stance is always: let's make this the best we can).
They're doing this because it saves them time and money, and gives them a little extra hype/sales boost, because hey, it's tied to those other games people liked. They could have gone with just reusing all the Earth assets from the previous game (DOTM is using the exact same engine/system), and build a game that's still 'movie only', but they did not. :)

Is it possible to be cynical about the asset re-use in this game and yet still think it looks more clever and fun than your typical "cheap movie tie-in" game? :)

    Exactly, which could tie-in Galvatron/Megs.

Heck, let's bring Tripticon back while we're at it, he was awesome in WFC.

    THANK YOU!

Doesn't even warrant a $20 used copy unless you play it and give it back to GameStop in under 7 days.
