But the people you're describing who attacked Bay's apartment and computer attacked because they *HATED* what he did to Transformers in the movies like his "ugly designs" and putting the flames on Optimus Prime because those things "Raped their childhood". The people in tis thread *LIKE* (or at least appreciate) how Michael Bay is handling Transformers. So they would (and should) have no reason to attack Bay.

And I would appreciate it if you link a source of that Roger Ebert incident because I've never heard anything about that. I highly doubt a professional critic like Ebert would start something by "attacking our intelligence" and if he did then he is the extremely rude one for casting negative judgment and stereotypes on people who like a movie he hates. I think you're confused with Dark Knight Rises and the fans who gave all the critics death threats If they so much as gave the movie a negative review.

People who grew up with G1, shouldn't they be something like +35 now?. And if Bay raped there childhood, shouldn't they speak to the local Jungian analyst instead of vomiting there discontent about Bay on forums? Im 36 i love g1, but as much as i hate Bayformers, i find them also amusing and fun.
And yes Bay is a movie director i like to watch when i want to switch off.

I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about G1 (or any Transformers series of old) extremists that give him death threats and do other worse things on sites like YouTube because they don't like his vision on the franchise that they worship accusing him of ruining their childhood. Ther are barely any here because if they ever pulled a stunt like some fans have on other sites then they would be kicked off this site immediately. Fortunately not every fan is like that.

and not only Michael Bay as there are fan who give Hasbro (or "Hasblo") death threats and other things like wishing them bankruptcy because they're throwing a hissy fit over not getting a children's toy (that is a toy made primarily for kids) that they are entitled to have more then Hasbro's young target audience when that toy gets moved or canceled to make way for more toys that can enrich a young child's life. And THX acts like this is exclusive to the movie fans!

    pretty much :lol

epect me, i have been able to survive 2 years (2012-2013) without any kind of Transformers to see (keep in mind i dont watch the cartoons and i have no intentions to do so), so if i was able to survive 2 years without any kind of Transformers footage, i can survive just 3 more days without any footage (or more if the trailer is delayed or not released at all:p )

Nope. Not confused at all. Here you go: Roger Ebert Schools The Transformers 2 Fans - CinemaBlend.com There are other links if you Google for them, but this one works.

    Thank you.

    1. I stand corrected. I'm sorry.

    2. Yeah but there is still the fact that he lashed out like that. What he said specifically about the "Evolutionary Ladder" saying that those who enjoyed the movie are "not sufficiently evolved" and him insulting their intelligence, literally, is completely out of line. He, being a professional, should respect anyone preference in film, no matter what they like. To say what he said just makes him lose his credibility and shows that he takes cinema far too seriously then he should. It was inevitable that he would get much justified negative backlash for an extremely negative and offensive prejudice he made to people who just disagreed with him on a stupid movie. Don't tell me you actually sympathize with him.

Admittedly, I see both sides of the issue.

On his end, he's entitled to his opinion (whether right or wrong), he's allowed to respond when attacked.

On the fandom's end, we're also entitled to our opinion (whether right or wrong), we're allowed to respond when attacked. However, we crossed the line when fans wished him dead and made comments about his battle with Cancer, etc.

Neither side was right, but we crossed the line more than he did. It could be said that his actions might've been a result of the toll the Cancer had taken on him. Or, it's entirely possible he was just an asshole lashing out, which has been seen before, with how he made horrible comments about Ryan Dunn shortly after his death after Jackass 3 hit theaters. (Well, it was around that time, I should say.)

    Either way, it all sucks.
