No he is not mirage. In concept, he was going to be mirage. But they dropped that concept (of the character mirage) kept the conceptual look but renamed him Rush, then Enzo and then ended up with Dino as he became his own new character for the movie.

 

What T-Former said. Only it was Ferrai that had them change the name from Mirage too Dino.

So yeah.....Ferrai you blow!!!!  

Yet on a serious note there also the reason no DOTM Dino/Mirage was released.

 

However the name was used in tie in media, so he's still Mirage in a way (alongside Que/Wheeljack and Devastator/Brawl)

That confused people. Especially in ROTF for younger people. Luckily Hasbro came in and saved it.

 

I don't know if you guys want to back me up on this, but keeping Dino out allows BB show to go on. In other words, Dino could steal BB's attention if he were allowed more screen time. His altmode was a Ferrari, he looked inpatient and was real fast. The movies have always been about keeping BB and Optimus so unfortunately they can't keep everyone.

Sideswipe had a nice edgy attitude that will be missed, and wheels for feet which was not everyone's favorite trait.

 

Actually the wheel feet was a nice touch.

Also with Mirage/Dino it's true he could've stolen Bee's thunder. Yet Sideswipe did the same thing. As did Jolt..........let's be honest there will always be a character better than Bee.

I expect this from the Pagani in the new TF movie.

Dino and Sideswipe should return.To me,Sideswipe kinda replaced Jazz since he died in TF1 sadly.But they still should return but it doesn't matter now if they ain't gonna get the license for Mirage so there's no point but he did play a role in TF3 and did speak.Too bad it was only a few lines and then his VA passed away.And then there's Sideswipe with 2 VAS(James Remar and André Sogliuzzo).So right now I'm still hoping for them to return but if there's no license for a Ferrari AOE toy then there's no point but if they make a retool for Deluxe Stinger(If they ever make Stinger) then I'd be proud.

 

Shame about mirage he could have been a 458 speciale.

 

I expected Dino to go - but getting rid of Sideswipe seems like a middle-finger to some of the fans, especially after starting to give him more screen-time in DOTM. Heck, he actually had a memorable scene with the 'Mexican showdown' with Ironhide.

 

I still say that is Sideswipe blown to bits on the side of the road where Lockdown is walking from the house

 

Great paramount and Hasbro might be repeating Hasbro's marketing plan from 1986; kill off existing characters to refresh the series with new characters.

No Ironhide? Here's Hound with a ton of guns. You like blades? RIP Sideswipe, hello Drift. Still want an Autobot team to wreck and rule? DINOBOTS.

 

If Ratchet's in it then Sideswipe certainly should be, especially as he did more in the movies and had a more memorable design with the skating and all.

Same goes for the Wreckers, though at least now that we know Ratchet is definitely in it, the old trilogy bots have not been completely disregarded.

 

Yeah on that Autobot Most Wanted poster, it show Sideswipe & Mirage have been slain, but they may show Ratchet & Topspin in trouble.
