Hmm, I think that may actually be the best prediction yet, it would explain multiple aspects about the Dinobots.

So basically my mental idea is:
Dinobots arrive on Earth to hide and protect some big powerful relic thing, get to the planet after the asteroid just recently hit and all the dinosaurs died out, they scan for new alt-modes, the scanners don't pick up on the small mammals living down there who survived the extinction event so they scan the remains of the dinosaurs, getting imperfect skeletal remains to base their forms on.

Forgive me if I come off as completely stupid...

But do the images of Slog and Snarl confirm that those Dinobots will appear in AoE?

 

I think it makes it very likely that they'll be in the movie, not only are the images connected to a marketing tie in with Cheetos (why advertise characters not in the movie?) but with the leaked toy listings from before we're getting a Generations Deluxe Snarl and Voyager Slog, and if I recall correctly someone from Hasbro said all characters in the movie would be given a toy form.

So my money is on, yes, yes they will.

 

here is a thought:

there are people that think that in the kreo sets, ratchet rides snarl, but no one knows that for sure...

but if that is true, I think sludge/slog might be rided by leadfoot...

 

I certainly would hope. Just need to wait and see what horrible paint job Hasbro will give them.

-I'd say helmet as all of his other figures have the helmet, and if they're based on the same art then they'll probably share the design, but the quick shot of him in the designer video shows a painted bright silver head that looks more like the face. Hopefully he has a face with a removable mask and then everybody's happy.
- Hopefully not, although they'll definitely reuse the chest plate and shin parts.
- Snarl and Slog should be in keeping with the medieval theme, so both will have knight-like helmets and melee weapons. I predict a battle axe for Snarl and a Halberd for Slog.
- He has a toy listing but apart from that we know absolutely nothing. If he's in the movie at all he must be a minor character, and may die early on...

 

I would suggest his armour is too erect to be ankylosaurian. Stegosaur osteoderms are hyperelaborate. Plus they have them in a lot more of the body than
most people think

And this is fun and entertaining for me. The sig is not just cause i think it's funny. No worries sir. I did a whole thread on this for Grimlock...preeeetty much because the idea of classifying this stuff amuses me greatly. I've a friend who did the same for Godzilla on his national geographic blog. Oh the looks his wife gave him. He even did an evolutionary tree for the Kaiju in Pacific Rim
