I'd say they are short for the new MP line, being the same height as the other Autobot cars, but to each his own. I'd put them in Classics.

Seeing the prototype again reminded me how much I hope that iGear will release a black/diaclone Ironhide and a movie Ratchet.

They're almost a head taller than the Datsuns and just a bit taller than the lambo's. But scalewise still too small for MP (not too mention the design esthetics).

Personally think they're too big for classics (they are taller than Optimus, ugh), BUT they, and MP cars actually pretty good with Toyworld's Orion.

Agree totally. I've got them as placeholders in my MP collection, but as soon as Takara decide to do Ironhide and Ratchet in the MP line, these 2 are going in with Orion on my classics shelf.

Also, if anyone is considering getting these guys or the other releases of the mold...I highly recommend picking up the reprolables sets for them.

I think they're perfect for Classics as long as you use PP01 Faith Leader as your Optimus Prime, which is what iGear was probably going for. Toss in MP Grimlock and the upcoming Generations Leader Jetfire figure, and then you're cooking with gas.

Ah, figured it was prototype. Still it looks cool in those colors. They should release it since they are milking that mold anyway :)

Seeing this thread again reminded me how much I hope that iGear will reissue theseā€¦ or at least offer up the extra weapons for each as separate packs. I'd rather pay $30 for a weapons pack & get Patrol or Defense for $100 than pay $170 off evilBay for the first versions.

I think TW's Orion should work pretty well too, right?

He does...he stands just a bit taller than the Van Bros. I really think they go well together.

    Classics and scale?! :D

Bumblebee who in his bio is one of the smallest Autobots is almost the same size as Starscream, Grimlock is a midget, etc...etc...

A perfect CHUG collection would indeed need lots of 3P stand-ins. Orion, the Specialists, the upcoming iGear Raptors...

But I also have them as MP stand ins. But I like them enough that I wouldn't mind keeping a version when we get a real MP. That's why I'm hoping for diaclone and movie colored versions.

Sorry to necro a dormant thread, but I finally able to take this shot and they all scaled very nicely. Throw in MP Grimlock, this will become an epic display.

Nice picture. Should add iGear Hench and Cogz, they were in the '84 cast.

    I agree.

Now THAT is how I expect Ironhide and Ratchet to size up to Prime.

At the moment you've got it perfect. Hench will make BII and Huff a little too big (as he's a little too small). I say add Henkei Jazz:)

Bumping this because, well, these are bad ass molds. I don't have Ironhide yet (I normally don't go for redecos) but I'm seriously considering it. I just got the "First Aid" Ratchet yesterday and I'm blown away by him.

So good. Love it to pieces! And after following the steps in this tutorial: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/tutor...eapons-specialist-ironhide-modifications.html he's even better.

Don't regret the $70.00 spent. Not one dime. Should've done this sooner.

I got defense from BBTS on sale too. It came in the mail yesterday and one of the heads is missing the blue plastic for its eyes. So annoying
