I don't like reading comics digitally. I'm an old schooler and prefer the real thing.

I swear to god Scott better not turn IDW Starscream into Prime Starscream or have him kicked off planet or something equally stupid. Starscream controlling Cybertron is the best plot idea RID had losing that would be terrible.

I would lose my shit if that happens. I just hope this means that he has less control over Cybertron than we're led to believe.

Will basically kill the series for me if this happens.

Powerless doesn't necessarily mean he's going to lose his seat of authority. It could mean he's powerless to stop whatever's happening, and having to rely on someone else, like possibly Windblade or Scoop. And, since we know how much Starscream likes to rely on other people who could get credit or steal the spotlight, being powerless in this instance is worse.

Well, considering that the first issue dealt with rolling blackouts, which Starscream is being blamed for by the citizenry, powerless is more or less what Starscream already is. Electrical power-less.

Starscream needs to shoot the power plant where I used to live with rolling blackouts I know how the people feel.

Finally got a chance to look at this. Art was nice. I really dislike the character design, though.

This is admittedly the first thing that came to mind as well; that "powerless" is merely referring to the blackouts, as you said.

I think I may have been a little harsh before saying Starscream getting kicked out would "kill" the series - but still, it would be a massive negative point for me.

I honestly think IDW Starscream may be my favorite version of the character. He can actually be rather threatening and competent (when he wants to), and isn't just a running joke. And putting him in charge of Cybertron is an INCREDIBLY interesting idea, and probably one of the most compelling things ever done with the character.

To have that all torn down would be pretty awful. I'd like to think Scott is smarter than to do anything like that, though; having Windblade dethrone (or in the absolute worst case, kill) him with her replacing him as ruler would, I think, only increase the accusations of her being a "Mary Sue". Scott seems to have deliberately written Windblade the way she did to avoid that pitfall, and having her kick Starscream out and become the ruler herself would, I think, fly in the face of that goal a bit.

Yeah, Starscream being 'powerless' probably has to do with his inability to do anything about the blackouts, etc.

I'm sure he will stay in charge for a long time to come.

Hmm Starscream powerless? Well if I was Starscream I'd team up with someone who had some juice, maybe a certain gal who talks to cities. Hell maybe this story ends with a very uneasy alliance/partnership for those two.

A reluctant alliance between Starscream and Windblade is exactly what I'd want the most.

And, really, Starscream IS pretty powerless, especially in comparison to guys like Megatron and Optimus. Sure, he's managed to remain in a position of political power, but that's mostly due to the overwhelming number of unaligned Cybertronians. None of the Autobots or Decepticons (read as: fighters) really listen to him, except Rattrap, who's more the backstabbing espionage guy anyway.

I'd like to see them act as mentors for each other actually. Working together, Starscream could teach Windbade about decision making and how to run some more right wing (hahah) politics, while Windblade could mentor Starscream on how to deal with the 'people' and keep them loyal.
