I just with Meg's gun was purple. Seems silly to make it realistically colored when he's still, you know, a neon green and purple tank.

... might pick it up, though. G2 Megs is one of my favorite TFs of all time (so obviously I have GDO Megs), and being even a little bit closer to G2 Megs is pretty nice.

Very nice. For the moment I'm weak enough to say I want the Samurai and Super Tank sets. Of course if times get tough before launch these will be high on the chop list.

 

I put in a preorder for the Megatron and Bludgeon sets, but I'm starting to think the above and minimize it to just the Bludgeon set. Its looking like all the guns/swords are identical. I already have the Headrobots Blood kit, but I was never truly sold on the head. Didn't really like the plastic quality of it either. Felt kind of cheap.

Slapped a preorder for all of them for now. Likely work it down to one eventually. Like the take on Bludgeon, and even though I like both it and Head Robots heads, I don't think I can bring myself to replace HR's version, so I may have to track down a second Bludgeon.

 

I only own the Meg's and banzaitron versions of this mold. I'm just going with the Meg's set. Don't need the heads, so I save $6 and get the same weapons. Meg's gets the cannon, banzaitron gets the swords and the gun might not go to either of them.

I have the HR upgrade for bludgeon from the masters of metalicato set with whirl. That's my bludgeon, even though he's a wee bit undersized.

 

Still waiting on Ronin set   I'm probably gonna do some mix matching with these and my other Headrobots set to give Banzaitron some love for the time being. Really want that red face though.

 

The big gun looks like something that would work better on a gundam.

 

I just got the Botcon Gigatron off ebay for $39, just so that I can get the overlord set to go with it. Also planning to get the Meg set to go with the preordered cloud megatron!

 

For 40$? I know folks aren't quite fond of the mold... but wow... that's cheap for an Exclusive...

One vendor had a bunch at 40... and many of the others are from 40 to 60 bucks... Folks must've *really* not cared for Gigatron.

I guess you can use the extra Bludgeon head for Banzaitron... or heck, split the set between the two figures. Give Banzai the alternate head and Cannon... Bludgeon the more familiar head and the blades.

As for Overlord/Gigatron... I guess with the eBay info above... he's easy enough to acquire... comically for about the same price as this kit.

Has HR done anything since the Drone recently? Also... given the price of their kit previously... 30$... folks will find it a hard sell compared to the PE sets... I mean you're getting a good chunk more with the PE set here.

 

Yeah....Headrobots is pretty much dead to me unfortunately. I have several figures bought just in anticipation of their add ons, but I've since moved away from the idea.

I thought Ronin was very close though, Captured Prey had a sample last year at Botcon or TFCon (can't remember which one). I do think PE is on to something better here and with the price point, I can't say I disagree with you when comparing the sets. Also since their Skel-E-Tron set was pretty garbage IMO (non-matching blues, messed up paint on the skull face)

 

Now all I need is for someone to make some "shoes" that I don't have to paint.

 

I like the gigatron colors of this mold but it doesn't feel like overlord to me. Been with this head upgrade. And I like the cloud megatron coming out, but I can't see spending $100 on it. So banzaitron and g2 Meg's it is.

 

I paid $40 for Botcon Gigatron including shipping on eBay recently too. Came from Hong Kong.

 

Pre-ordered that Bludgeon upgrade kit at BBTS the moment it went up.

I have always felt that the esthetics on this set blow Heads robot's attempt right out of the water. Those guys just couldn't sculpt a skull to save their lives!  

I've literally been wanting this upgrade set ever sense we saw it back at TFCon Canada two years ago. I remember pics of it turning up along sides the first images of a prototype of Fans Projects Car Crash!

They had Erector made from I-Gears Hufer as the exclusive that year...Man, that was a convention!

 

You can't split the heads between the two because there's only one head with each of the faces on opposite sides but two helmets. Kinda like both of HR's Blood Kits but with an extra hat.

 

I already own the HeadRobots Blood upgrade kit but I'm in for the PA-02 Bludgeon add-on, mostly for the new guns and new heads (the HR head sculpts are alright but nothing too stellar; these look much better and have more of the IDW characteristics I'm looking for). The swords are nice too. The big cannon, I'm thinking may look better on say, PE Warden instead.

 

I don't have Botcon Gigatron, nor do I want him, but I really like this Overlord head sculpt. I wonder if it'll work on Generations Double Dealer..
