Though not strictly adhere, they do have a lot to do with G1 (pre-)continuity as stated by HMS themselves when developing the game. Now FoC/WfC to Movie-verse ... THAT has absolutely nothing to do with each other.

 

Keep that piece of shit Movie "storyline" and "characters" away from the decent FOC universe.

No, they don't.
They're BASED on G1 aesthetically and in terms of characters to a certain extent, but have nothing to do continuity wise with any prior version of it.

It's true that HMS said they viewed it as a G1 prequel, however anyone taking those words literally needs to seriously take a step back, since the games are incompatible with every single G1 universe that has ever presented itself (specifically the G1 cartoon, which HMS mentioned a lot as a source of inspiration).

There's a reason the games were used as the starting point for a new universe/continuity. And being a G1 prequel isn't it.

With that logic, Transformers Animated could be considered a G1 universe (what with them using G1 footage as a "historical video"), since that could be known to have more references to the mythos in a single episode than the games did in their entire run-through.

 

You know what? I've actually gotten used to these crass insults to the movies. Ugh.

I'm in for the multiplayer, but the movie aesthetic is a total turn-off for me, so I'll take great pleasure in blowing away the movie designs with the FOC characters *evil grin*

 

If its a continuation of FOC then I hope they're not trying to a crossover between the game and the movie. It was done in Prime and I think it should stop there. Yet I'm sure it'll be fun

I'm wondering about that Spark of Darkness video game, if maybe we are completely misunderstanding it. Maybe Hasbro has pulled a fast one on us and the plot of Spark of Darkness will start as a sequal to Fall of Cybertron, then they will come to Earth and when they get there the Autobots and Decepticons will become the movie characters! So after years of telling us that WFC/FOC was a prequal to TFPrime, Hasbro changes it's mind and says it's the prequal to the Bay movies! (Note from Hasbro, please re-write the TFwiki's entires for EVERY movie and TFPrime character!)

This is funny because the guys who made the game original thought it was a reimagining of the G1 origin, then it became the origin of TFPRime, now it will be the origin of the Bay movies!

 

If this is just a repackaged WFC with an Earth chapter I'm cool with it.

I'm not enough of a gaming-god that bleeding edge graphics mean the world to me.

I hate the Bayformer esthetic, but short of hitting the Powerball and making my own damn game what's a Geewoner to do?

But if this is some sort of 90% online/deathmatch game I'll pass.
