What an exceptional writer and person, this man is.
I hope no one outside of Transformers realizes this and steals him away.

Thanks man. Just downloaded some of Robert's early free stuff. I'm starting with 'Liars A to D' (title seems oddly familiar ;) ).

I hope James Roberts continues to write Transformers for years to come. I don't agree with every thing he's done in the story, but that's part of what makes it some amazing. It's like a glimpse into a real world, it's not perfect where everything goes right in the end. I really think he accomplishes what he sets out to do- I'm emotionally attached to all of the characters.
I can't explain much it hurt when even minor characters like Pipes died, or Rewind who I had become really attached to.
Roberts is brilliance in a bottle.

A lot of good writers know to leave options open if something unexpected happens. Most of my experience of seeing it in action comes from watching Babylon 5, where Murphy's Law is around every corner there.

Good luck trying to find a copy though. I believe there's a naughty PDF of it out there somewhere.

He's not flarking kidding about things changing in the rereading. I'm reading season one again with my son and sometimes I have to literally clap a hand over my mouth to keep from ruining a plot twist after some of the random conversations on the Lost Light. He's got a JK Rowling level of foreshadowing going.

He and Hickman's Avengers are some of the only monthly stuff I read right now in comics. When MTMTE isn't bogged down by a crossover (looking at you Dark Cybertron) it's the best stuff on the stands.

Very much agree with you on this, DrTraveler.

We, as a fan base, are truly blessed to be graced with someone so gifted with his literary talents. When we think about it, we have a writer who; is in fact a fan himself, is a talented stand alone Science Fiction writer, and has a love of deep and complex character writing.

And it is in that level of complex character writing that I believe Robert's has arguably gifted the Transformers universe with something we have never seen before; Bot's as folk.

Sure we have seen "the dark side of Optimus Prime" or the "suedo privatized inner thoughts on certain bots inner failings" from various other writers, but never have we been shown or presented how the various Cons and Bots act, behave, and live when the proverbial camera is turned "off". It seems so simple, but yet remains so effective... He gave us a window into each and every one of these characters personal lives and revealed to us there; personal thoughts, feelings, fears, desires, and ambitions, and for some of them...even love.

I personal can not wait to see what James has in store for us in the coming future and I hope that he remains with us, in our Fandom, for a long time to come.

If that day comes may God have mercy on us all.....

Good interview never the less, ironically I was initially put off by that Cyclonus/Whirl encounter in issue #1. Glad it worked out in the long run.

It was great even just to read something just like this, the day after the reveal of so many toys that won't be out for months and months! ;)
