Slug being purple is AWESOME. Since Bay fucked up or killed every Con I really give a shit about... I accept I won't see a good or different TF movies series for at least a decade. Probably longer. So I look for new things to enthuse me. The Dino bots so far are awesome. Real cartoon like designs, giving a middle finger to the the whole realism angle. Drift, Crosshairs... All are gonna look cartoon like... but real. This is its own continuity. And Slug is purple (@ least the toy is). And I think it's f****** awesome.

Strafe and Grimlock look awesome too, even as Constructobots. Looks like some fun little toys.

 

Similar to how 'Jetfire' in ROTF is labelled as a 'Seeker' its likely going to be a case of the Dinobots being referred to by everyone else as 'Ancient' transformers or something like that - then after Grimlock transforms he explains he's a Dinobot.

Some of them were labelled as Constructicons.

Lockdown has been paired with a mysterious thing called 'Wolf' which is likely a robotic Wolf similar to Ravage - however that's currently only a theory. As far as the toy listings are aware - Lockdown has NOT been paired with a Dinobot - though Toy Fair will probably change things.

 

We don't know what he may ride yet. His steed may just be toy related and not be in the movie. But then again, it may very well be in the movie. His steed is called "wolf".

Well the Decepticons did have giant Hatchet Dreads on Cybertron. Wonder if "Wolf" will be as armed as them.

 

The dinobots won't be this colourful in the movie. No way.

They'll be like Shockwave, grey unless you look REALLY hard for the colour you want.

We missed out on a lot of later kreo hence why I'm not super hopeful for beast hunters.....then all of a sudden AoE bots show up? It's bizarre down here

 

So the only proper Dinobot names are Grimlock and "Slug" eh? Did they have legal troubles for Swoop, Snarl, and Sludge? You'd think Slash and Strafe would be just as generic/problematic.

 

Maybe this will get kids back into dinosaurs, will have to fight the hardwired urge to buy dinosaur toys ha.

 

$24.99's OK. I can deal with that for an early release. I'll call up tomorrow morning before work and put some on hold and pick them up after work. I really hope Hasbro hasn't gotten there first and told them to take them off. I remember that happening with Big W's when they leaked DOTM early.

Honestly... the ConstructBots Grimlock looks better than that giant Chomp Stomp nonsense unveiled yesterday... shame the dino head doesn't split in two for shoulder pauldrons though...
