As a HUGE dinosaur nerd, I honestly have zero problems with the exaggerated designs of the movie dinobots. In fact, the movie dinobots are the only Bayformers besides Barricade and Shockwave I honestly think Bay improved on the original design. G1 dinobots were plodding jokes, based on a painting from the 1800's that is woefully inaccurate. Bay's Dinobots, while also not anatomically correct, at least have the beasts as energetic, streamlined beasts. Closer to jurassic park than flintstones.
They need to make a movie verse cartoon based off of this art work! It would be the best TFs cartoon ever!
So, like, I guess you don't remember Wheelie riding him in the original movie? Jeez people are so... ugh. Just ugh. Optimus riding Grimlock is awesome, the two "leaders" teaming up. Grimlock was always been a big dumb something. He's never really been cool until... huh, until now I guess. Even in Animated they were stupid and didn't do much. In FOC he was just a lame Hulk ripoff.
i think thats just the same art on the box of the first edition AOE prime but the grimlock art is new.
Not everyone does remember that and or not everyone here is a G1 fan. Some have never even seen any G1 cartoons. You have to keep that in mind.
Then why did he say "Grimlock USED to be king." That implies prior knowledge. If people are gonna mention the movies not being like the old, well, it's a double-edged sword.
Just you wait until we have an one-liner in the film explaining that all the Dinobots scanned real Dinosaurs... I have all 3 versions of the original animated movie - and trust me. Having a small robot ride a massive Dinosaur is fine. The fact is that its Optimus riding Grimlock which seems more like a gimmick while in the animated movie the scene with Wheelie riding Grimlock is on screen for less than a couple of seconds and that's solely because Grimlock allows him (From memory as I watched the film yesterday) It also made sense in the animated movie as their was no need for Grimlock to Transform. Yet in the movie we're going to have an akward scene of a 30ft Optimus climbing onto a 60ft Grimlock - then having to get off a 60ft Grimlock when he transforms into a 100ft monstrous robot...
I'm pretty sure it hasn't been confirmed that Grimlock transforms. And don't go on and say the toy does, and I don't want to hear anything about a pixelated image either. Don't go on about Grimlock did in G1, because these movies are different. Don't start making futile complaints about facts we don't even know about. If he does transform, and it looks as silly as you're making it out to be, complain all you want. I don't know if you drove your Delorean in front of a train and got yourself stuck in the past, but it's time to understand that the movies are almost incomparable to what was seen G1, or any other animated series for that matter. Other than the fact that we have fighting robots and people, what else is there to compare? I find it quite silly to compare a live-action film to an animated cartoon. If you're going to do that, you might as well compare Spongebob Squarepants to a dish sponge sitting next to your sink.
Why does Grimlock have ears? Or are those suppose to be horns? Whatever they are every time I see them I think of ears.
That looks like the FE Optimus art photoshopped to a grimlock. Maybe there will be a massive leader Grimlock that the FE Optimus can ride on...
