Officially pre-ordered. At $32 w/free shipping, I can't pass that up. Chances are it will probably stay in the shrink-wrap for all eternity (I haven't even opened my S!F G1 sets since buying them), but at least I will be able to fill in another gap in my TF Media shelf.

Blu Ray is not the be-all, end-all of home entertainment media. Just because it might be the latest tech available, doesn't mean it automatically makes everything better. Read on to find out why it's pretty pointless to put Armada on Blu-Ray.

I refer you to this excellent post from earlier in this very thread:

Armada, Energon, & Cybertron were actually co-productions in both North America & Japan, despite some obvious plot differences in each regions translation. They are not like Headmasters, MF, Victory, Car Robots, BWII & BW Neo that were made specifically for the Japanese market. And I thoroughly enjoy the true Japanese series. Its just that whether you like older, newer, or middle-aged TF series, these three are pretty much bottom-of-the-barrell for most fans. I would think that anyone who had this as their "jump-in" point would look to Animated & Prime as much better series.

But It's obvious, while WE the overwhelming online fandom has always disliked these series, 11 years later, the kids that were 4-10 when watching this, are now 15-21 and part of this community...time stands still for nobody...

Out of the AEC shows, I still think Galaxy Force was awesome (and Ignition is still my favorite TF theme to date). Too bad the US did a terrible job translating it... (IMO of course).

I hope this boxed set has the fixed errors from Japan...

I jumped in with Armada and I must say that I didn't enjoy those series that much (Animated, Prime) as I enjoyed Armada. They were good, but missing something for me. And it's not the crap talk about "I GREW UP WITH IT", because I wasn't even born when G1 aired, and yet I enjoyed it more than Prime and was on par with Animated. Prime was just wonderful looking, but the random ending was disappointing to me.

I grew up watching the old G1 but armada was out during my teenager late teens time so this was one series I missed.

    NO.

Armada IS the best transformers series I woulden't look to ANY other series as "much better" because there NOT.

What the "overwhelming" fan base thinks is irrelivant because of OCD influcences and sheep culture.

Saved me time as I haven't been back to this thread in awhile.

Good to know that there wouldn't be much of a difference.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, and I sincerely mean that. But I'd also like to point out that it is equally irrelevant. While I don't necessarily agree with O.Supreme's assessment of the fandom as a whole, he is just as entitled to his opinion as you are to yours. Subjective terms like "best" or "worst" really don't help matters, nor does insulting anyone who may disagree with you.

I think your point would come across a lot better if you had less vitriol and more spell-check.

    Happy to help. :)

Its not his opinon though is it ? he is genarlising the people who watched the show back in the day and deciding what WE therfore I, think of it and telling ME what shows are better than it, hes also using random stats about what the "overwhelming" fan base thought to back up his "argument" there is no HIS opion anywhere in that post.

Ill use the term best or worse if I want too and if people can't work out when I say best in one of my posts that Im speaking from my perspective then god help them.

I have no clue what you are talking about, I havent insulted him at all. I don't really know why your trying to "difuse" a non existant situation.

"I would think that anyone who had this as their "jump-in" point would look to Animated & Prime as much better series."

"anyone" he should speak for himself and stop generalizing. Armada was my "jump in" series and It is the one I like the best, he is basicly telling me what my opinon is. telling me im wrong or misguided. If this was his opinon it would not include the words, "we or anyone"

    Evidently.

Finally they are going to release TF armada on dvd. It was probably the best cartoon out of the unicron trilogy.
I haven't seen armada since it stop airing on tv, but I HATED the toys for armada they SUCKED compared to robots in disguised and beast wars toys.

Making assumptions and generalizations to support a given theory IS opinion, whether it is explicitly or implicitly stated as such in his post. Also, I have no idea where you got the idea that he is telling you to like something or not. He made certain assumptions, which in your particular case are incorrect.

I never said you couldn't use them, only that terms like that can be misinterpreted quite easily without any further explanation. I also find it ironic that you are criticizing O.Supreme for not explicitly stating that his post was opinion (when it obviously was) and in the same breath expecting everyone to automatically understand that you are "speaking from [your] perspective."

I wasn't referring to you insulting him specifically, I was referring to your "sheep culture" comment. You talk about unfair/inaccurate generalizations and yet you're basically doing the same thing. My opinion of Armada has absolutely nothing to do with my opinion of any other TF show that came before or after it. I judge each show solely on its own merits/detriments and I take offense any time someone implies that I cannot think for myself.

I like how you conveniently skipped over the "I would think" part of his sentence. Those three words right there should tell you it's his opinion based on certain assumptions (Animated and Prime being better shows than Armada). Nowhere in that statement does he tell you what your opinion should be - he is merely stating what he thought your opinion might be, given your age group and first exposure to Transformers. Obviously, he was wrong in your case.

The preorder on Amazon was linked in the news story you quoted.

The funny part is when Tony posted it, Amazon had it for $31 and change. Now it's up to $40.49 (10% off of the list price of $44.99).

generalizations are a nonesensical way to try and validate yourself, use them with evidence (statistics) or dont use then at all.

He can easily post his opinon without trying to group me and others in to it, when he does that I wont have to reply, not hard.

also how is my "sheep culture" comment an insult that still dosent explain what you mean, "sheep culture" is just people following others, how is that an insult...

I'll sell off my old Armada DVDs now that this is coming out. I'll sell my part 1 DVD first and then my part 2 set when this is released.
