It's sure is hard to deny that the Deluxes are smaller size now days but oh well...

 

There are more articulation points now though and more emphasis put on the transformation play rather than bulky missile fireing contraptions.

Not to hate on the gimmicks. Sometimes I like a well executed spring loaded item.

Adding those points in like thigh swivels and ankle tilts, every point impacts the toys production budget. Its still amazing what Hasbro can get away with for so little asking money do to how massive their production run is.

 

I was going to pass on this, but the vehicle mode and the "two mode" bot form are too interesting to pass up.

The only thing that can save my wallet now is the lousy PA distribution!

 

Love the look of this mold, and I think the size fits well with the rest of the figures on my CHUG shelf. However, I think I'm going to wait for the inevitable TakaraTomy redeco. As much as I like how the mold details look, the blue used here is much too baby for me.

Are there any obvious characters that can also use this mold?

 

The redeco/mould is going to be e-Hobby-original character Crosscut, per the leaked toy listings and testimony of the people working on the pack-in comics.

 

Yah man & the future TF toys will be shrinking further as times goes by.
