For our next gallery update, we would like to draw your attention to some extensive galleries of the Mech ideas Demoltion Crue - Apex and Geminus, unofficial and unlicensed versions of Generation 1 Topspin and Twin Twist.

Mech ideas are a relative newcomer on the third party scene, but their first full figure releases set the bar plenty high. Apex and Geminus share a basic body type, varying up the molding on the legs, shoulders, head and backpack to produce their unique robot and alternate modes. The designs are true to the original Jumpstarters, even if the alternate modes feel a little boxy. They are fantastic toys through and through though, with astonishing levels of poseability, excellent detail, and a good selection of accessories. There's lots of nice little touches in the designs, such as the double-jointed elbows, which make these toys for me. Best of all, unlike a lot of third party releases, they are not overly expensive - you feel like you are getting value for money with the Demolition Crue.

Our galleries for this pair are now online, over 150 pictures for each toy - check them out by opening the links below:

Apex and Geminus VS Runamuch and Runabout - when I was young, I always thought these guys would be rivals. I think they look pretty good squaring off like this.

I'll stick with the FOC Wreckers versions.

They're far from perfect but I'm not that big on jumpstarters anyway.

I'm on the fence as to whether I think they look good or not, however, I'm leaning towards "not".

I have two sets. They are highly customizable. Easy to disassemble and reassemble. Very easy to paint. Articulation and poseability are insane. Just wish Mech Ideas made more custom and variations for them.

I have these and they're a lot of fun. Great transformations and plastics. The arms are a little long, but I can overlook that because everything else about them is so nice.

I miss the pullback motors. Maybe I'm just weird.

These guys are awesome figures! There really fun to play with, and cant wait to see what Mech Idea's will make next.

on a side note, the hammer's port can plug into a Act. 4 tamashii stage, this is really useful to pose Geminus is alt mode.

Is it just me, or do the shoulders seem to sit a little low in relation to the head on these guys?

Weird. I cannot understand people who think these are crap. To each his own, I suppose.

Great pics! I love these guys and hope Mech Ideas puts out more bots at the same price point. These guys feel like a real value considering most 3rd party prices, especially since you get both guns and hammers with them. They also have great articulation, as these pics show.

So everyone who has these loves them and they are great renditions of the original characters and the IDW comics and they are reasonably priced.... I am surprised they are still in stock. Maybe I will buy another set.
