The last book was complete shit. Don't see how the movie won't be.

Catching Fire was easily the best book, and I suspect it will be the best movie too. I'll definitely watch Mockinjay, but I don't have high expectations.

Catching Fire totally wasn't, as it was just a rehash of the first with a different ending. I adored the first Hunger Games book, but the second was a disappointment. Not because it wasn't well written, but because I had read it before.

Mockingjay was all around bad though.

Mockingjay was like, someone said "what if we kill peole", and the author said, "he'll yeah", and then there was no time to actually give a shit about it happening, and then katniss just kinda settled and nothing really made me give a shit. The series is like "woah that was cool", and then it rode out the whole hunger games thing for catching fire and then just kind of

I want to see how Peta's brainwashing by snow plays out on screen. Its quite dark in the book.

I agree wholeheartedly. Book one was a great insight into a fictional world. Books 2&3 feel like something made after they relized the success of the first book. Catching fire is confusing at parts but is just the same story again. Mockingjay is PAINFULLY dull at parts and the ending isn't satisfying in the least. I want to see what the movie will do with it but I'm not as exited as the first film.

I liked the book, but it was definitely the weakest of the three (especially after following up Catching Fire, my favorite book in the series). It just felt rushed and Katniss's team does nothing in the final battle. I liked the first movie more than the book and Catching Fire's movie almost as much as the book, so I think this will be an improvement over the book because it will have more time to work with and set up a proper ending.

Really? Becuase everyone I know said Catching Fire's book was utter garbage and that the movie made it 200 times better.

Never read the books, but I thought HG sucked while CF was quite good.

Huh. The general consensus among the people I know has been "Catching Fire is my favourite book of the series and the movie was amazing too".

    Gale:

    Katniss:

Awful I fuckin hated it, the ending also butchered the pacing, instead of all hell breaking loose everything just slowed down and then poured in jesus imagery

That's because it leads into the next one. I hated the lack of an ending, but it is understandable given that movies are just high budget tv series these days. We should be lucky we get an ending at all anymore.

And hey, at least Catching Fire was not just Battle Royale 2.0.

i didn't like the first one too much. i liked the second one though. the third, i fear is going to suffer from being broke up in two parts though.

also, catching fire's cliffhanger ending is one of the few times a cliffhanger movie has worked. the other being probably star wars 5, and back to the future. but it was still a complete movie.

it didn't feel like half a movie, like machete kills. a second half, that we're probably never going to see. due to it bombing in theaters.

I was wondering how the Mockinjay logo would look on-fire. Not bad. I wonder if they'll make a different one for part two, or just use the same one.

As for the topic at-hand... I personally think Catching Fire was the best of the books, and I also think the CF movie was amazing. I loved the first one, but CF was definitely better... imho...

I'm looking forward to the two Mockingjay movies. I'm definitely supportive of the decision to split the book into two movies. Like the last Harry Potter book, there's just too much to it to stuff into just one motion picture. Even more-so when you factor in all of the President Snow scenes they'll inevitably add in.
