Am I reading this correctly? The show is being helmed by the people who did SSM, Young Justice, and Clone Wars?

I have a good feeling about this.  

TBH, I had an inkling something like this would be happening after the end of the clone wars. Here's hoping the new show will look just as good, and also resolve the fates of some of the characters (looking at you, Maul).

 

This sounds pretty cool.   Wonder if it'll have any effect in the new SW trilogy?

 

Wasn't that the basis they were going for in the proposed Live action TV series they were talking about doing a couple of years back? I wonder if that project is now officially dead. (well we'll see it as this new show, but you guys know what I mean.)

Makes it really easy to stop missing Young Justice and Clone Wars.

 

Could be. The supposedly have all the scripts done but there wasn't a way to film them except spending way too much money. So since they spent the $$ on the scripts, just make them with CGI.

 

I wonder if any of the work done on the Star Wars Live action TV show was actually any use ? or if they quietly cancelled it an age ago and hoped no one would ask to much.

As with ABC/Disney involved it makes you wonder if there's a market for such a thing still ?

Or if this is indeed the way to recoup some of that by making a CGI show - I hope it's a bit less gormless looking than Clone Wars though as I bet that show lost a lot of market share by looking like a dog's breakfast in it's character design.

 

This is the direction i was expecting to see happen. I did want to see something between episodes 3 and 4.

Though 5 and 6 too would be sweet.

also if they needed to cast anyone as Darth Vader. I hope it's Keith David.

Technically it is a prequel.

 

It's a 'Sequel' to Clone Wars (perhaps).

Unless they decide to throw that cartoon on the fire. I understand that the newer clone wars does not always jell with the other material so this might re-write a lot too.

It might be nice to get certain ducks in a row. (Bet they ignore Starkiller though - despite him being a character who would actually be worth showing). Likewise Dash Rendar.

 

With Dave Filoni on board, I hope it continues a lot of plot threads from TCW.

 

Would be cool to see Captain Rex and the others in this. Be cool to see him not carrying out order 66 and forced to fight his brothers.
