I'd guess the former, since it worked pretty well for Clone Wars. It's also better suited for creating a longer-running show, since every now and again they can pop over to another corner of the galaxy to tell a different story. I kinda like them doing things this way, a lot like how Kurt Busiek writes his Astro City comic.
I wasn't that excited to hear about this series when I first read the headlines, but then I read that Greg Weisman was working on the show and my jaw dropped. If he can bring the same quality he brought to Young Justice for a Star Wars series, it will be one of my new favorite shows.
Why not get Sam Witwer (The Force Unleashed) to voice him again? And if those games are official canon I hope Starkiller is in it since he kind of unofficially (if I recall) started the rebellion. It's been a little while since I played the games.
Interesting. I hope this does not follow the story line of the Star Wars TV series. Wasn't that meant to have no Jedi, which, IMO, are the most important part of Star Wars. I do, however, hope that it follows Star Killer and gives us some info on the fates of Maul, Ahsoka and Rex. It would also be cool if Cody and some other Clone Troopers we got to know in the last series were lead antagonists in this one.
I don't think this show will be using or adapting too many scripts from the as-yet-unproduced live action show. As I recall, that show was about the underworld on Coruscant. I wonder how the Jedi fit into this new show, seeing as many of them were already killed, and Vader's hunting down the few remaining.
I hope they cut down the Jedi part of the series to just Vader, Palpatine and a few on-the-run Jedi. Pretty tired of the Force being such a huge part of the series. Just glancing at the novels and it seems most of them are all Force/Jedi related. New Jedi Order, Balanace of the Force, Fate of the Jedi, etc.
There is the X-Wing series, the Bounty Hunter and Han Solo trilogies, and the Republic Commando series.
Other then the Rebel Commando ones, all those others were pre Prequel releases. Once the Prequels hit, Star Wars was mostly focused on Jedis.
'Star Wars' new TV series art released | Inside TV | EW.com It's just hitting me now after seeing the concept art how amazing it is that there will be more filmed media of Star Wars stories set in the original era (or close enough to it).
That art looks fantastic. Looking to McQuarrie for inspiration is always a good idea. Very excited about this.
