I've been waiting 12 years for this (13 by the time the movie comes out). M. Bison "Yes Yes!" Widescreen HD reupload - YouTube I could've sworn that I had pants on before reading that news a few days ago. But now? ...I'm...I'm okay with this. Life found a way. Transformers (2007), Iron Man (2008), Avatar (2009), Cowboys and Aliens (2010), Real Steel (2010). And that's not counting the films that the likes of Legacy Effects/KNB FX have used that utilized only 'practical effects', not necessarily "animatronics". Animatronics can still be used these days, it's just that with the advancements in CGI, animatronics are becoming less prominent. CGI can do more, and while so can animatronics, with the content that they want to bring to the screen, animatronics can only do so much. The split between CGI/animatronics became larger and larger as the JP films went on. The first JP was like 30/70 for CGI/animatronics. TLW was probably closer to 50/50, while JPIII was like, 70/30. I honestly can't see JPIV completely disregarding the history and legacy of Stan's work by not having them involved at all. Worst case scenario is that Legacy Effects (formerly SWS) is "only" used for conceptual purposes, maquettes, sketches, and the odd animatronic here or there for reference - think like a 95/5 split for CGI/animatronics. Yeah, I highly doubt that Legacy Effects won't be involved in some capacity, even it if it just minor. From an FX-standpoint, there's dozens of ways they can do the dinosaurs if they wanted, using various different levels of combination between the two methods. My favourite scenes in any FX movie is when practical effects and CGI are mixed - the JP, Transformers and Iron Man films being great examples.
a theory most of jp fans have is that the JP3 raptors may have been the first attempt at creating the Raptors, but ingen wanted something more scary and awesome for the audience, so they created the non-feathered raptors which are more agressive and dangerous than the JP3 ones of course its just a theory, it still have to be canonized on screen
I've also heard the opposite; that the JP3 raptors were the first they created, but were TOO scary, intelligent, and dangerous. So they dumbed them down a bit for the park, possibly causing them also lose features such as feathers, etc. (using a higher percentage of frog dna or something )
you are the correct one, i forgot which were the scary ones the fandom were reffering to, the jp 3 ones or the JP/TLW ones
How come there is no Allosaurus in Jurassic Park? It was one of the most common carnivores across the world afterall. Bring back Nick Van Owen, so he can be eaten by an angry Allosaurus to make up for all the deaths he cause in The Lost World due to his misguided green agenda.
Since the script is by the "Rise of the Planet of the Apes crew, maybe it's about a future world where the dinosaurs have taken over/are running amok openly. That would be cool IMHO.
Oooooh I can't wait for this! The Jurassic Park films were my favourites as a kid and I still love them now, so this better turn out awesome, the 5 year old Dinosaur Kid in me demands it!
Oh look...JP3 WASN'T the final nail in the coffin...ugh...just ugh. Sorry but JP3 was a disaster to me, and I would rather all was left well enough alone.
Nick Fury aka Samuel l Jackson aka Ray Arnold says he would love to return to the franchise if asked http://uk.askmen.com/entertainment/...on-tarantino-and-jurassic-park-interview.html
yep, but he can always play a new character (everyone have their "twins" somewhere ) but keep in mind he's not in the film (yet), he simply said he would to be part of it again
When that little girl kicked the Dino out the window much eye rolling happened. But the boy in Jp3 is less of a moron than the one in Jp1 I'd say. and I really like the Pterasaurs (even if that is just a scene from a book missing from the 1st movie and jammed into the 3rd one for giggles). I don't think the Therapod Dinos looking different isn't bad they had some stability problems with the DNA due to parthanogenesis and Frog DNA linkages and they might have been tinkering with the wrong strands from other sources and got more than they bargained for. So it's easy to see the Jp Raptors as an evolution and mutation or a breed they made that were to smart and so they ones we see first are more animalistic and the ones in 3 are more a natural or base created state. consider the whole mult-site product development and interferance by foreign rival corporations there's lots of potential reasons. Oh and the Spinosaurus in croc swimming mode is bad ass - heck the Spinosaurus is the best actor in that movie and he's just made of pixels and rubber. In a way I don't think the ideas of the old JP 4 should be made - but I would be very interested to see them explored in a non-cannon movie by someone else or perhaps as a videogame. but then that would just be the sitcom Dinosaurs then ? [Not da mama!] I think instead you'd need another bridging movie 1st before going all sci-fi to soon.
