"Out of this World" 1987 US TV Series

Just found this on Youtube

and after watching the first episode...I can clearly see that Sabrina the Teen-Age Witch (TV Series) is a rip-off of this show:
The cube becomes the Book of Magic.
Both get their powers when becoming 13 (i think Sabrina did, maybe 15, hard to remember).
Both can only talk to their dad thru an artifact (Cube/Magic Book).
Will Alf join the show as Salem later?
They reference ET and ALF on the show, but I have NEVER EVER seen this show, and this would have been a tv show I would have liked, or at least tried, back in the 1980s.
Does anyone else know this show?
