basically this. Peggy has gone now and besides Black Widow putting the thought of Agent13 in his head he hasn't really shown any sort of affection to another woman. As I said, the Civil War kiss came off super awkward and forced to me.

I'd honestly rather they took out all Romance from the Cap movies and made his sexuality totally ambiguous. Keep going with the Agent 13 and Bucky stuff like they have been and let the audience decide for themselves what Cap represents, I always figured that was the point.

But hasn't it been stated that Bucky is Cap's best friend? I know today best friends act different than Cap's friendship with Bucky, but that is all it is, a friendship.

    Who are you to say?
I'm sure it won't go any further than wishful thinking. But making Steve gay/bi won't make him any less of the man he is now. I don't see a problem with the people who want this to be a thing.

It wouldn't make him or anyone less of a man, nor is there any problem with wanting it to be a reality, but I just don't think, within the arc and character that's been established around him, that it's a necessary development.

I mean what if TF5 suddenly showed that Prime and Bee and been in a passionate love affair the whole time. Would it be cool?

The only problem I see is changing a fundamental part of a character. A person's sexual activity may be a minor thing to you. But characters have more focus on their sexuality than you think, and livingdeaddan's point is also important here to

Yeah, I'd be fine with it, but I just don't see it happening (here and now), because I just don't see the foundation for it. What Steve and Bucky has is a fantastic bromance -- and that's beautiful on it's own.

What gets me is the people freaking our over the very notion that some fans would like Steve to be gay. I really don't see it happening, so maybe hold off on freaking out, until/unless Disney/Marvel makes it happen...

    Right?
I kind of like this development because I've never really been that into Cap's character so this will make him more interesting for me. It's probably going to upset a lot of people though (understandably so).

Well yeah, thats what I'm saying. Just leave it as an ambiguous thing that people can take for however they want. Remove the kiss from Civil War and everything is still there for people to choose how they interpret whatever as sexual tension.

But let me ask, Bucky has no sexual tension with Steve, unless you count fan art, and to go with the mcu, Steve putting his hand on Bucky's shoulder (as seen in one of the Civil War trailers). Tell me if I'm wrong, but there is no sign of a gay relationship

Yeah, I might just be old fashioned, but this sort of change would be bigger than people make it out to be

No issues with LBGT characters, but they should introduce on established one into the cinematic universe rather than try to force a character that has no history of it into being one. Isn't Union Jack gay for instance? Northstar, Two of the young avengers and so on.

Don't get me wrong id actually think it'd be great if they did, Joey from SHIELD is turning out to be one my favorite characters, but maybe start with characters the comics already established as gay and or bi. Another issue would be the sudden revelation would come across as to much a twist for the sake of it, similar to when that one free lantern guy came out, that's all I can say I don't really follow GL. Similarly Andrew Garfield had an idea of having them explore Pete's sexuality, want to guess what fan reaction was? Finally whenever a movie even tries to mix things up people cry "ruined forever" rather it ranges from the Mandarin twist to flames on Optimus. Again nothing wrong with a lgbt character I just don't think they should take a character and just change it mid-story.

Putting your hand on an upset friends shoulder to show support is gay? Man have I been sending mixed signals for years!

I'm not sure you're seeing what I'm saying.
Carry on as normal but remove outright sexual contact (kissing), and nothing changes. Leave it for people to see it however they want.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up this whole argument. I think that changing the character mid-story would not be a great choice.

That was sarcasm, in a way. I feel that would've been one of the arguments of people who want this to happen.

Ok, but there is still no evidence either way, making your point. But like my last point with you, there is no real, true evidence that would even remotely support Stucky being a thing
